I'd mis it but I've gone through seperation from electronics before, and I feel I could pull through. Not with flying colors, but I'd live.

Of course I could "disconnect." Do I want to? No.

There is not much for me to do outside. I could walk around my empty, boring neighborhood. I could go spend money at stores, which isn't exactly a healthy pass-time. I can't play sports, as I have no-one to play sports with and my knee is injured anyways.

I can do both.

It's not that hard. Facebook and the validation of your existence will be there when you get back.

Hell yeah, im exciting for summer like never before! Its good to know i can go and do shit without having to worry about the house burning down because no one will be home. Also no one will be home so i wont have to spend the whole time driving my family around, which is good. Time to go fishing. In fact i might go this weekend.

I get bored of sitting alone in my room staring at the screen. So yes, I love disconnecting and spending time with friends or bike riding.

I occasionally need an escape from my escapism o_O

Outside? What is this outside you speak of? Are you refering to the territory of the jocks and preppy people who spend their day frolicking on the beach all day and consume copious amounts of alcohol by night? Nonsense I say! We are nerds damnit! And our place of being is inside in front of the computer and/or tv and doing nerdy things!

But seriously outside is nice all and it is good to appreciate nature and nice days but other than that it's really boring. I tried being an outside person once (mostly due to being forced to by parents) and playing sports but it wasn't the life for me. I am a social outcast and loner with severe social anxiety so the idea of being in big crowds and throwing or tossing (or hitting or kicking) a ball of various shapes and sizes just does not appeal to me. I'd rather be inside by myself or with a select few people and play games or whatever. I go for walks outside on nice days for fresh air and I enjoy it until I get bored and then go back inside and play my favorite game :)

I probably could. I often wonder why I keep coming back to the 'net considering my relationship with it is something akin to that of an abused spouse.

I definately can do that. When I go up north sometimes I realize how relaxing it is to be away from technology and hassles. I'd have no problem doing this.

I belong to the few who do not have a Facebook account. The only online social network I'm more or less using is a platform to chat with other gay people - and I fucking hate it. It's a necessary evil because it's very complicated to get to know other guys where I live (not that chatting is counting as a form of getting to know someone).

But for every nice person you have to shovel your way through countless idiots who either think everyone's beneath them or other who want to marry you after three messages just so they're not alone. In the last weeks I've seriously been thinking about just deactivating my account as it's just a giant waste of time and as it seems I'm better off being single.

Yep. Did that yesterday, went for a run (not jogging, a proper fast run, about 3 kilometers), got home, went to sleep at 9 am. It was... good. Especially the running part. Also finished the last couple hundred meters with a sprint, and I felt like I was totally weightless afterwards. Yeah, definitely try that.

I don't need this social life on the web. Oh sure, I've met amazing people here but it isn't the same as talking to someone face to face. I would miss gaming, particularly TF2, but I could live without it.

I would say, at this point in my life, my ambition to move forward in my career outweighs my desire to stay on the web. I've been around here a lot more recently but that doesn't mean I wouldn't be able to simply turn off the computer for a month and do other things.

I need other sources of mental stimulation. The computer isn't enough, not by a long shot.

Outside tends to bore me. I can live without the internet n stuff, but I'm usually bored if I dont have any electronic equipment like video games n stuff. Most TV shows bore me as well.

I know I can live without it though. I've done so.

I think I prefer to stay inside.

Perhaps a little middle-ground - spend some time outside, some time inside? When you get outside into that beautiful weather, you'll stop worrying about those little red flags for a while. =)

I love to have some 'me' time. Grad school involves so much time spent in front of a computer that it's a relief, when the weather is beautiful, to get out into the fresh air. Hell, it's a relief even when the weather is awful... =P

I feel sadder when I'm sitting inside on a computer and the weather outside is gorgeous!

Hmmm...I don't use facebook, twitter, or any messaging programs. Other than not being able to play with other people online I'd be okie dokie.

You may have just given me an epiphany.

Though its more to just stop contributing to Facebook and the Escapist. But in all honestly, it would be terrible and lame without other people and me not being able to do whatever I want.

I couldn't do it. I'd miss too many people that I talk to.
