All the time. You go for the different endings of course but I also play different roles when I can. For example In TES games I'll often run through as if I'm one of the old D&D classes and restrict myself accordingly, eg only use blunt one handed when I am a cleric, only class that can use restoration magic. Only using cloth and dagger or staff when a mage etc. I also play the sidequests that are relevant e.g guilds or doing shrine/Daedra quests with the cleric...

Does playing less than half of the game again with a different class or build count as a replay?

I rarely finish a CRPG for a second time, but I usually do compare a couple contrasting character builds long enough to get a fair impression.

I've only replayed oblivion and that was because I switched xbox and account and lost all my data.

All the time, especially if I can remodel my character and play through a slightly different story arc each time. RPGs are the BEST games to replay.

WRPGs, definitely. Things like TES and Fallout are basically made to be endlessly replayable. JRPGs on the other hand, tend to be very story based and when you've played through it once, you've seen it all. That's not really the case with something like Dark Souls, of course, but it's not a typical JRPG.

At least eighteen full play-throughs of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords.

About fourteen full play-throughs of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic.

Twelve full playthroughs of Fable: The Lost Chapters.

So, uh... yeah, I replay them sometimes. :p

I used to live in the middle of nowhere with really bad internet, and that's about all there was to do. They're all great games though, so NO REGRETS!

bah, you think that is something? my power level at least DOUBLES yours in all those game replay levels!

*I have no life o_o *

but seriously, those are some of my top replayed games also, bro five!

OT: I would say 90% of my replayed games are all rpg's, I LOVEEEEE replaying good rpg's, it's almost an addiction.

every bioware/obsidian/cdprojekt rpg to date i've played through at least once, and 90% of them i've replayed probably a dozen times or more.

If it's a good game, of course I'll replay my RPGs, usually multiple times in order to try out new playstyles and make different story choices. In Skyrim alone I've completed the main questline with no less than seven different characters, because once I'd get done with one I'd always think of some interesting new gimmicks and personality traits to build my next character around.

I used to start a JRPG, play a few hours and then restart with a better knowledge of the game. Of course, that was in the SNES and PS1 days when you didn't have to sit through hours of intro bullshit.

I've played through Final Fantasy X maybe 10 or so times. I absolutely adored everything about that world when I was a child and teenager. And with a 50-hour game, I'd say that, yeah... That was a HUGE sink of my time. Despite this, I never got all the ultimate weapons nor beat all the really powerful fiends in the arena.

I always say I'm going to, but my time is so limited! I usually wait until I have forgotten the storyline (or at least much of it!) I know I've replayed FF VIII and X. I never sell back my RPGs though, just in case - got burned on Shadow Hearts, which got really expensive later (and I bought again, since I never finished it.)

I usually replay RPGs I love.
These ones are the recent ones.
- Fallout 3.
- Fallout New Vegas.
- Dragon Age.
- Dragon Age: Awakening.

Though that has been it for now.
I really enjoy those games, so I replay them multiple times.
It's fun.

I look forward to other games like these I can replay.

THIS ISN'T EVEN MY FINAL FORM! I didn't mention all the half-play-throughs I left due to getting new games, becoming bored with the current character/build, etcetera. Unfinished play-throughs would double those numbers, probably. :p

I like RPGs and JRPGs,( i'm looking forward to Tales of Xilla and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix) but i often find myself getting bored and not finishing them even if i really like them.. I've yet to beat my favorite JRPG Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES.. mostly because it's so long... same with Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age 2... all great games i just got bored and put them aside.. though suddenly i want to play them again right now.. maybe i'll go turn on my PS3 and play one of them..

Pretty much the only games I replay are RPGs. I actually just finished a 6th run of Dragon Age: Origins over the weekend.

Oh: you meant Action Adventure Games! There is no such thing as a "RPG" on consoles or computers. I'm replaying Final Fantasy 7 on PC and it takes me back to my childhood.
Eh, whether or not you believe that cRPGs are a different genre than p&p ones, Action/Adventure games are still a separate genre.

I used to replay RPGs a lot more than I do now. I must have played Kingdom Hearts and KotOR a dozen times apiece. Now I'm lucky to get through a game two or three times.

It depends. I rarely replay a game that has one set character, but will replay ones where I can make my own in order to try different builds and story options. The exception to that so far has been the Witcher 2, considering the whole second half of the game changes based on a decision, so I gave that 2 playthroughs.

Sper Mario RPG gets dusted off and played through every couple years. Super linear, but the intro of the Axem Rangers makes me giggle every single time.

lol i almost made that same joke the first quote to you, props on good word choice.

and oh i know the feeling, i can't tell you how many half playthroughs i have where a new game would come out or something and demolish that half playthrough into the graveyard of unfinished games.

I played through Neverwinter Nights about 150 times (it was the only game I had for years).

I've played through Dragon Age: Origins at least 50 times.[footnote]I'm the kind of player who wants to milk every possible scenario out of a game.[/footnote]

Sooooo...my answer would be a whooping "Yes".
