All right, this has been done before but it got about 35 posts and it was awhile back, so I'm doing this thread. Are you afriad that your life will end soon? Personally, I would choose "Kinda" mostly because I believe life has no meaning, but death could be a dark void for all eternity. So I fear that niggling doubt that it isn't a happy place of sunshine and... Kittens... and that it's a dark void to float in forever. Also, everything you had in life it gone, your relationships, possessions, the simple joys of living, gone. I want this to be answered with this thought in mind, death can happen at any time, tomorrow, the next hour, a week from now. Just keep that in mind while answering, no need to lie here.

Edit: Alright, it's come to my attention that some people are more sad to die then scared of it... I really find it interchangeable, but I added a new option for that.

No. I used to, but I don't now. I realised the death of people that I love is a far more terrifying thing.

the funny thing is, the way I see it death is just an ending, not the beginning of as you put it "a dark void for all eternity" it's just nothing...

so no, not afraid in any way.

I would like to attend my own funeral tho... does that make me weird?

I don't believe in any kind of afterlife, so... no, I guess I don't fear death.
I do, however, fear dying. No matter in which way you go out, there will at least be a few very uncomfortable seconds.
-EDIT- Ninja'd.

No. I am afraid of certain things that cause death, but overall, I don't care.

Everyone fears death, myself included. I know it's inevitable, all people know that they will die. Which is why we have invented the ideas of reincarnation and various heavens and afterlifes, to help us cope with the idea of dying.

All I know is that I want to die happy, comfortable, and with a nice thought lingering in my mind.

Death is the only thing that gives are lives any value. Death shouldn't be feared it should accepted as the conclusion to life. Death is a natural process we should start viewing it like one again.

You took the exact words out of my mouth. Everyone has to go eventually. So why not embrace the fact as soon as possible?

That's how I'd put it. I'm scared of drowning, or sufficating. They are horrible ways to go.
Burning is the worst, your skin is burned off then your muscle, you die once your muscles are burning... Or having your limbs chopped off while sitting in a bath tub of salt water while sombody slowly skins you.

I fear sharp objects pointed at my direction, making my eyes squint as if the were gonna stab through my eye.

I fear that and dying. But death, once your there there isn't much to see unless you reincarnate or go to heaven or hell.

I actually beg to differ. I friend of mine actually very nearly drowned (well actually he DID drown, but was rescued and resussitated (sp)) and he actually told me the first few seconds are frightening, but after that he felt a certain calm come over him and just accepted it.

I guess this has something to do with the body's endorphines kicking in wich gives you the real "dopey" feel...

wouldn't know for myself tho, and I'd just prefer to go in my sleep or doing something I love :)
