I support logic above happiness because I think that supporting the inverse of that is selfish and hurts society.
If you believe that in the first place then why the fuck are you arguing with me? All I'm saying is that as a general principle you drop all of your convictions as you please for the sake of a more optimistic outlook, by that modus operandi you can vindicate to yourself whatever deranged, repugnant shit that you want because it makes you happy. I brought up Fundamentalists, because this mentality can lead to more pernicious repurcussions, as you said it hurts society. And by the way lambasting my argument is nice when your's essentially just amounts to 'why the fuck not if it makes you happy?', but whatever, I realise now you were just fucking with me, so I'm leaving this thread before it gives me a fucking aneurism. Good fucking day and fare fucking well, I can't be fucking fucked, with this fucking thread any fucking more, so good fucking bye.

Well, you didn't say anything about doing things for the good of society until now. That I'm aware.

It was just a logic check.

Everyone fears death.Anyone that doesn't is either brainwashed, lying or delusional.
You can risk your life and still be scared of death,so don't pull the "brave soldier" argument on me.
In fact, how much are you willing to bet when one of those fearless types die in battle, they suddenly cry for their mothers and ask Something to keep them alive?

You cannot say that you are leaving your material form and going to a great unknown no man can observe, rationalize or understand,or not be afraid. We,as humans, are afraid of the unknown,so when one of life's greatest mysteries rears its head,no one is stoic.

"Life's a ***** and then you die - Bumper sticker philosophy. Yeah right. Sometimes you get a second chance." Am I the only one who liked Babylon A.D.?

OT: No. Everyone's gotta die. Instead of wasting your time worrying about it, go do something to make your time worthwhile. Kill a man or save a life. Rob a bank or give to the poor. Find something worth dying for, and you'll never be afraid of anything again. I found mine.

I'm afraid of an afterlife really. Part of me thinks, maybe I would prefer there ISN'T one so I can just be a bad person.
But if there IS, I'd regret it after I die.

Being nice hasn't been very rewarding. At best, you break even.

its a natural part of life
So is suffering.

And what does it matter if one goes out in a boring on an interesting fashion? You won't be around to enjoy the fireworks of your passing.
i dont need to see the fireworks but i would want it to be how i wanted. i fear premature death in a way. i just want to be of my choosing not some other way. perhaps boring wasnt the right word.

I am not frightened of dying. Any time will do: I don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it ? you've got to go sometime

Afraid of loss, pain or suffering?
check
Death itself?
Not really. I mean, it's not like I would care about it a soon as I'm dead, will I?
