I don't know about you guys, but I can't help but read a thread when I see the lock symbol next to it. It's like a train-wreck that you just can't look away from. Every time I see a locked thread, I just have to read it. Do you guys feel the same, or am I the weirdo here?

Hard to say. I don't look at full forums that often. But when i see a locked thread,i may or may not read the OP. If OP is legitimate, must investigate further.

I always like to see what calibre of discussion was deemed unfit for the Escapist. I also like to see what infractions got people banned or suspended.

Depends on the title, if it's something that doesn't look lockable from title I like to see where things went wrong, that plus everybody has a bit of a disaster voyeurism in them and I am no diffrent.

I'm sorry, what was this about? I was busy reading that locked thread about Barack Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize. You should check it out, the OP is kind of an idiot.

I feel very drawn to reading them, to see what happened to make them become locked. And then I usually see a post I want to quote, and I can't. :(

*sigh* It's a hard life.

For me, it all depends on the title.

If it was something like 'Gordon Brown and Barack Obama have banned all video games from the UK and US' then I would read it, but if it was something along the lines of 'LOLOLOLOLOL!!1!' then I wouldn't read it.

Somtimes. I wanna know why they were locked.
Same thing with banned people, I click on the link and check why they were banned.

I'm the same, take Naturalized on this thread, i've got tabs going on to investigate.

I'd like to say its so I can learn from the mistakes of others, but in reality i'm a nosy gitbag with a morbid curiosity.

I actually read threards that don't have 2 pages yet (like this now), so can I start following it instead of having to go to a 7 pages thread.

Yeah. It's interesting to see what exactly is bad and what can get you banned, and I guess its Shadenfroid (or however its spelled).

Yeah there have been ones which were really funny

For example about 6 months ago a locked thread which was about feminism in gaming and in the world and the second response was "WTF, who puts a computer in the kitchen?"
I laughed so hard when reading it, while I know it was wrong and it completely derailed the thread but it still made me laugh

Also when someone is banned, I hate it when I can't see the post and thread they were banned for
