Meh, if the game is seriously taking the cake and running with it, i have no qualms with cheating. I usually play games on the highest possible difficulty because if you don't challenge yourself then I don't really see the point of it all. I'd never cheat on multiplayer but not really through a guilt reflex, more like if you did, there would be not much of a game left. And that's what I paid for in the first place! Spawn camping: why? It's just like a target range, only somehow more boring. Nuke boosting (or otherwise boosting), aimboting etc just remove the GAMEPLAY part from a game. Same with hacking. If these pointless rewards (a high KDR, the nuke emblem, 10th prestige etc) matter so much to you that you'll cheat to get them, then you have to wonder why you play games in the first place.
So would I feel guilty? You decide.

i've never cheated in an online match
but as far as typing in some 12 digit code to unlock a secret character or all the guns, I don't see any problem with that.

No I've never felt guilty because I've only ever used cheats when a game decides to throw in 50 enemies along with the near un-killable boss. So its the games fault that i used cheats not mine.

It really depends on how I use the cheats, for example some games have "cheats" that just add something really silly to the game (Mini bike in Saints Row 2, and I mean Mini) and some will just make you a god.

So if I use silly cheats in my game then I feel ok, but I won't use god cheats to beat a game.

Cheats may make a game easier...but they make it sooo much more fun.

Having said I mainly play games to appreciate sounds, visuals and narrative...as well as to blow stuff up with mates and not have to worry about the consequences.

There was one time where the game literally forced me to. Dragon Age Origins somehow threw me into a random encounter with a massive army of Darkspawn, which was dependant on me finishing story quests to gain help from factions. I had explored the areas, but not finished the quests, so I still got the encounter...so it was essentially an army of highly leveled Darkspawn against 4 low-level guys with no means of replenishing health.

I tried fighting out of it. So many times. I must have sunk about 1.5 hours into that one encounter but I still couldn't win - it was genuinely impossible. Out comes the command console...

I felt guilty, but it had to be done.

No. I cheat all the time in single player games. Sure, it may rob me of a more meaningful experience, but I can't sit through the things I consider to be boring or monotonous and pretend to enjoy it.

I have not and will not cheat in multiplayer games. It spoils the gameplay experience for inumerable people and its unfair.

I don't use cheats.

They just take the challenge away and make the gameplay boring.

I have used cheats only once or twice since summer 2008 and I`m proud of myself.

But I have to admit I always use them in GTA games..the real way to have fucking awesome fun.

On Mp...who said I use cheats?
On sp...c'mon, GTA IV would be a lot more boring had it not been for its cheats.

I rarely ever cheat and no I don't feel guilty about it when I do, I do sometimes feel it cheapens the experience though.

Nope.

Not even when I'm doing it against my friends in Pokemon matches. Granted, the only actual cheating I do is to give them moves they couldn't normally have (Groudon + Sacred Fire = AWESOMENESS), and even then they still have a good chance of beating me!

Cheating at Pokemon concerns me even less when it's against the game itself. Once you get to a certain point in the Battle Frontier challenges, cheating's practically the only way to even have a chance.

There really is no point to cheating. To beat a game with cheats is to not beat it at all.

Yes, I do feel guilty, but only if I don't finish the game first.

The only type of game I allow myself to cheat on is the sandbox game.

Not really, I cheat sometimes in multiplayer games just because they get boring quick. Like glitching on COD or using an aimbot on Garry's Mod that headshots everyone around you in under a second. In single player, not really also.
