I love Dilbert. One of Dogbert's phrases is what led me to search for my avatar in the first place.
Shave the whales led to nuke the whales, and I've been happy ever since.

It's more the White collar worker's comic...

I think that it's pretty clever and humorous...

I first read it on the back of my dad's Computing magazines, but now I have it in my daily e-mails (I think it's too special to put into my Google Reader)

It's the only one of the big three (Calvin & Hobbes, Far side, and Dilbert) that's still alive, so that's something. The years are starting to show their wear and tear, but it's still consistently funny. And that's the important thing.

I like Dilbert, but I don't think it was the best. I personally liked The Boondocks when it was a comic strip

I've loved Dilbert since I was a little kid, when I weirdly understood most of the jokes having only been in an office once or twice. I love the subtlety and when something totally unsubtle happens during something relatable, like one of the employees being a dinosaur and another having two heads, etc.

I used to love Garfield at the same time, but now I hate it... while I love Dilbert more than ever. I guess it's a realization of comparitive quality.

Have you ever seen the cartoon show? I loved that too, but for very different reasons. I watch it now and again to make me feel like if Dogbert can do it, so can I.

As a kid, I found comic strips funny (chiefly Calvin and Hobbes and Far Side), but their humor is much too one dimensional and dated for me now, just as sitcoms are as well. They're much too formulaic and mass produced, lacking the creativity of what I enjoy now.
That being said, comics certainly are comic. They just don't take comedy very far. Granted, the same could be said about crappy email forwards, but they're at least a bit better than those.

Like every other comic strip, it's hit or miss.
Some of Scott Adam's work is comic genius, but most of it is just whining.

It is pretty good. There are better comic strips out there, but there are also many, many worse.

What BeakfastMan said.

Bloom County is still my all time favorite weekly newspaper toon.

It's funny. Makes enough snappy jokes on the way things are marketed and society. Downside is: when they are only being seen as funny, people don't tend to think of it as anything more than that.

Calvin and Hobbes is the best comic ever made.

Edit: That actually doesn't really regard to this thread lol, I like it but I don't read it and couldn't think of a single comic if pressed. But I have enjoyed most of the ones I've read.

Edit: Dilbert I mean.

While it's not in my holy trinity of newspaper comics (Foxtrot, Calvin & Hobbes, Bloom County), I rather enjoy it. I also have fond memories of the short-lived series.

Oh, and it's an infinitely better source of work-based humor than The Office. Seriously, I do not get that show.

I'm blown away by the fact that Dilbert has been around for almost 20 years. That must mean something.
