I constantly find myself playing games I absolutely adore but end up not finishing them or not doing everything available (side quests, challenge rooms, etc). I was wondering if this happens to many others or just me.
For myself, I don't really know why I do this. I think part of it may be due to school and work, so in the time I do get to game, I want to do something new, and not just do exactly the same thing as last time. Also, it could be that new games get realised every week, and that there are already so many great and interesting games out there, so the pile of games I have yet to complete grows.
For example, I absolutely love Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies, and played it pretty much constantly when it first came out. However, just before I finished the main quest, I just stopped playing (although this was due to me FINALLY finding a copy of Mega man Zero collection, which is impossible to find in the UK, and I had to go back to school). I actually started playing it again earlier today, which made me think about it, and write this thread.
This also happens to me for books, comic and TV series and other things, but it bothers me the most in gaming, as games are more expensive.
Oh, and BTW, If there is already a thread like this, I apologise. I'm fairly new to this site
