I don't go watch 3D re-releases because I'd rather just watch the original. That and I've never been fond of 3D movies. I'm glad they got rid of those stupid red and blue glasses, but the new glasses still aren't glasses friendly.

I don't see the point in 3D films. I'm not paying almost £5 more plus the cost of the glasses (although I kept one pair to re-use) just to have things slightly different. Films also did the stupid 'oh-look-it's-coming-out-of-the-screen-into-your-face-whooooo' thing that just goes to show it is a gimmick rather than adding anything to the movie other than an expensive production budget. I've seen two films in 3D because there was no option to do otherwise and few others because friends wanted to watch it in 3D rather than vanilla. I wasn't blown away by things seeming to be slightly closer to my face, I remain to be whelmed.

As for 3D remakes, they are even less appealing. If I want to watch Jurassic Park I'll scrape off the cocoon of dust from my VHS copy and try and make it work on my laptop or something. I dislike it when some films get limited unseen directors exclusive HD remastered deluxe premiere directors choice extended directors editions, throwing 3D on the pile changes nothing about that especially if it is more than a decade old and clearly just pandering to nostalgia. Although 3D Firefly will probably convert me. Especially if it comes with season 2.

No. I like 3D if it's done right, but a "3D re-release" just howls "cash grab". I hate it when they do that.

I only watch 3D movies that were meant to be 3D.

I generally avoid "3D" releases, whether originally made for it or redone.

The technology as it stands is little more than a cheap gimmick that can cause some significant physiological problems.

I'll get excited about it when either they flesh out the existing system (if absolutely nothing else the goggles need extensive work), or move on to media that actually is three dimensional, rather than a 2D optical illusion.

I dont particulary like 3d, especially since I wear glasses and the 3d glasses are a bit uncomfortable with real glasses underneath, but I go see movies in 3d when the movie theatre where I go only have them in 3d, or with rerelease that I really want to see.

I mean, it Jurassic park. It's the movie that made me interrested in cinema when I was a teen, and the first movie i saw on a date (yes I was almost 14 when I saw it in it's original release)

The only time I wanted to go see a 3D movie was for The Lion King (which is a movie I love to bits) and Titanic (largely wanted to go see it because it was out on the 100th anniversary of its sinking). I only wanted to see them in 3D because for their 3D conversion, they altered the movies frame-by-frame (Titanic taking two years for its conversion if I remember right). It worked really well for The Lion King, as it added a lot of depth to the animation, and Titanic, admittedly, I can only remember the underwater 3D effects, which were awesome.

NO and I'm one of the people who doesn't mind 3D (3D should only be done for movie specifically made for it IMO) I catch them on Bluray after they come out BUT I've only seen ONE non-cartoon/animation that was converted into 3D that has been good and that was Titanic (which actually had better 3D then some 3D specific movies :p).

I do, but only for movies I love... and only because I want to see them again in a theatre.

I would much PREFER that they be re-released in NOT 3D. But I'll take what I can get.

I don't like post-production 3D. Avatar and The Hobbit looked fantastic in 3D, but those were the only two in 3D I saw that were filmed in 3D. NO! I lie! I also saw Saw 7 on a 3DTV. It was okay. I did see Star Wars Ep 1 in 3D, but that was less to see Ep 1 in 3D (I liked the prequel trilogy anyway), I just wanted to see it at the theatre again, since I haddn't had such a sci-fi movie experience since Ep 3 came out.....I LIE AGAIN! Star Trek was the last true sci-fi movie I saw at the theatre. Ep 3 before that.

I am super excited to see Jurassic Park in the theater again. I am much less excited about it being 3d, and really wish it was just a normal re-release. 3d is distracting and slightly headache-inducing, but I'd deal with it if the movie is good enough.
Yeah, that's my opinion, too. Jurassic Park is one of my favorite movies ever. I'll happily see it on the big screen again, 3D or no.

3D is a stupid gimmick that needs to go away in the movie industry in terms of the screen and I'm not paying another $6-10 just for Imax instead of normal.

So what is your take on 3D re-releases? Do you go see them? If so, is it only movies you haven't seen, only movies you absolutely love, or do you shun all 3D like everyone's favorite red-shirt-and-creepy-stare avatar Tippy2K2?
I won't see ANY movie in 3D. I tried once with Avatar and I ended up having to take the glasses off and watch the entire second half in Blury Vision because it was giving me so much of a headache.

And that was the "good" 3D.

If there is a 2D showing of a movie I want to see, I see that. If not, I wait for the DVD.

Fuck 3D. I hope this fad dies soon.

I personally like 3D. It's fun to watch.

But I don't go out of my way to choose 3D in the theater.

I probably won't end up seeing the 3d rerelase of Jurassic Park only because I don't feel like seeing re releases in theaters at all.

The whole theater experience is waaaay too expensive to warrant going to a 3D version of a movie I've already seen. I might be more willing if I had more cash to throw around (especially for Jurassic Park :D) but as of right now this kind of thing is definitely a pass.

I...might see it, only because Jurassic Park begs to be seen in a proper theater, particularly for the sound. I had a thought that made me feel old, though. The timing is great because there's a whole lot of people who really never saw this movie or were very young when it came out, as well as the group how saw it long enough ago that they'd fork over for the nostalgia (my camp). It's bloody brilliant from a financial perspective. Millions at the box office for a theatrical release, a second time.

The 3D itself is not at all a factor in my decision, and does nothing to enhance my movie going experience. The glasses make everything darker, messing with the contrast and colors. The 3D doesn't impress me at the theater, I remember rides at theme parks that actually made it feel like things were right in front of your face, so I don't know what's up there. All I get out of it is a weird added depth perception.

No, I'm not going to pay extra to re-watch a movie I've already seen just because they've attached some arbitrary bullshit gimmick onto it.

No, never. But that's because it's a re-release, it's nothing to do with the 3D really. I'm fine with 3D.

No, other reason. If I can't be arsed to go to the theater to see new movies, I sure as hell won't be arsed to see re-releases, much less tacked on 3D versions.

Though, the tag line of a commercial I saw was to "See it as it was meant to be seen.", which makes me wonder what they changed...

Where's the option for "No, I have seen the bloody movie before"?
