I hate it because it's so totally and utterly average. The story is ridiculous, especially compared to the relative subtlety of the first, the game is bereft of actual memorable moments, unlike the first, which averaged one a mission, so they just pilfer them off the first. The gameplay is pretty much the same, but the situations you're put in are a lot more contrived.

Plus, the game is 10 quid dearer than other games which provide much longer singleplayer and more varied multiplayer. On that note, the singleplayer is almost totally negated in favour of the multiplayer, which is horrible for people who don't play Multiplayer like me. Speaking of the multiplayer, from the little I've played of it, it's horribly unbalanced, and full of some of the most idiotic people I've seen on any game since Halo. Not to mention the way it utterly shafted the PC.

And it's the best selling game ever made. Dear lord.
I agree. With the exception of gameplay. It isn't the same, it's dumbed down, made too simple and less tactical.

The multiplayer is the worst pile of crap released in years. The lack of dedicated servers has turned it into a lagging, crash-prone hackfest full of cheaters.

Oh come on, another one of these threads?

And where's the option for "I don't hate it, but it wasn't anything special."

Simple: They fucked the PC version by not having dedicated server support and all the other things they stripped from CoD 4.

I don't particularly like MW2 because it's another nail in the coffin of single-player games in favour of screaming tweenage boys and their hopping, grenade-chugging alter egos.

I like it. Sure it has flaws, but if you just look past that and see what it does right, then you can just sit back and have a good time.

And yes, I know somebody will quote me saying "What good features hur hur durp durp".

But yeah, Karachi fuckin' sucks.

I liked the game, but I dislike the SP length and the changes that it may produce for the PC industry as a whole. All in all the changes it introduces would have been added in some game or another anyways.. Would have liked LAN capability on it...

it is a cool game but definitely not THE shooter i was waiting for. oh well, my last pc shooter was far cry so this game felt pretty new to me XD
the sp was damn awesome, i actually liked the plot. the multiplayer has decent gameplay but it could be much better

i usually play hardcore matches and almost never have trouble with bad comunity.

Why the heck would I hate it? The only problem with it is the occasional plot-holes and the short length of the Single Player. Other than that, it's an awesome game.
but... That IS the game...

the short story length, plot holes, and short game play time. That is the game to most people. Not everyone buys a game to veg out on the multiplayer.

you should have expected that the multiplayer would be the main part of the game. the sp is kind of a nice extra (bit exaggerated but you get the point)

I only played the singleplayer kampaign cause frankly i'm too bad in MP shooters xD
but for what the story was, it was fun to play, it was short enough to wrap neatly around my schedule, all in all i had my fair share of fun. Just what i need when i play a game.

I think this game was a mediocre FPS in my opinion.

The maps were fine, or at least some of them, the types of matches were okay. I guess the leveling system was fine. However, since i'm a Team Fortress 2 person at heart, I can't stand assault rifles and some other overpowered guns. I hate automatic guns, and unlike Team Fortress 2, this game requires minimal strategy when using an automatic weapon. Just run in shoot, hide if hit, rinse, repeat.

Snipers are also a little overpowered, especially them quick scopers, since snipers can one shot kill even without a head shot. A Team Fortress 2 sniper, can either deal serious damage that would make someone easily killed or have to retreat without a head shot, and can kill most with a head shot.

In team fortress 2, you also have set classes, so each class has set strengths and weaknesses. What is fun about that is that you use your strengths effectively and try to overcome your weaknesses in order to be as effective as possible.

Regenerating Health also bugs me, as it ruins a whole strategy aspect to the game while adding a much more simpler and basic concept of hiding for 3 seconds after shot.

I think that Modern Warfare 2 doesn't even have that wonderful of a replay value. Sure you can prestige and level up some more, getting titles and completing challenges, but its still the same as it was before, and it just died on me. Team Fortress 2 continues to add guns and make improvements to the game, creating more potential strategies and increasing the awesomeness of playing it again and again.

Modern Warfare 2, though a decent game, is not as wonderful as some think. I'm probably just spoiled with the wonder known as Team Fortress 2, but I would rather play practically any other game other than Modern Warfare 2

I dislike the game, but I also disliked MW1.

People kept telling me that MW2 would be like the second coming of Christ himself, and when I finally did play it, it just felt like another Generic FPS. I even felt online was a bit worse than the previous game, which I had gotten rid of because I didn't enjoy it.

Hey, I liked it.

Campaign was too short but fun while it lasted, and there are really only a few faults in multiplayer:

1. Spawns - Potentially game-breaking, but that's what Painkiller and Tactical Insertions are for.
2. UMP45 - Seriously, stop using this gun. I hate you.
3. One Man Army/Danger Close - This makes using grenade launchers so much easier. It's like spraying with an automatic, just shoot everywhere and maybe you'll get a kill. Lame, but not as annoying as people using the UMP.

Power isn't everything in guns, but that's all people use. I usually go for guns with high rate-of-fire, but after seeing literally EVERY person in one game except for me using the UMP, it's getting a bit too stupid.

Good thing I'm starting to lose interest in the game. It took 6 prestiges, and it's still fun, but now I'd rather be playing Bioshock 2.

I liked it, it was unbalanced as fuck and made me rage-quit more times than I'd like to admit, but I liked it. Alas, I've discovered BC2, which is, in my opinion, miles better.

I will admit that the single player was relatively fun, although compared to playing games like Half Life and Bioshock the controls of the Xbox were a bit unnerving. However the big reason I refuse to even touch it after finishing the story, because the multiplayer is just so shit.

Even if you're playing with friends, It's almost impossible to tell what the fuck is going on, and the kill streak system is probably one of the worst ideas in the history of gaming, making it impossible to tell if you're currently working your way towards that big game-ending nuke you want or to a mewling kitten who will do nothing but distract you while your enemies take turns turning you into Swiss cheese.

The online multiplayer is just that much worse, with the entire community being filled with nothing but either smacktards or "big, tough, manly" gamers whose balls have yet to drop. I can't see why anyone would find it fun to be running out of your base 5 seconds after you start only to be instantly killed by a flying knife that every player and their grandma threw from the other team out of their base hoping for a kill.

Would be nice for there to be a "game was average" option.

Admittedly I thought it was slightly above average but by no means a great game.

I hate this game mainly because it can be described as the most generic shooter EVER there is absolutely no imagination in it what so ever also because the online play it filled with 10 year old who think there so go at the game
