I think every female in League of Legends (at least the humans or close-enough-to-humans-that-it-wouldn't-be-illegal-to-hop-in-bed-with) is dressed as sexy as possible. French Maid Nidalee, Leblanc's Christmas skin....
Prom Queen Annie...*trollface*

OT: I hate sexy armor. I'd greatly prefer they just wore nothing!

Sex it up! But mix it up too. Give options for prudes, history buffs, and then have your normal stuff for folks who aren't uptight puritans.

I have no problems with sexy and/or revealing armour on women (or men for that matter). Hell I play fighting games so that kinda of armour is par for the course.

What I don't like is when there is little in terms of an alternative. If I play a female character I would like the option of wearing the big bulky armour, it better suits the design I'm striving for. WoW was often bad for this, though not anymore. Or the up coming Tera looks like it could be a worse offender, not seen any armour on a women that isn't revealing. Again the revealing armour itself is fine, it is the lack other options however that I would take issue with.

I hear a lot of people ripping on jack from mass effect for some reason, but I think it's not the same thing.
not really.

Jack was not designed to be a incredibly attractive character (your opinion may differ but "in the eye of the beholder" n all), and the tattoos were so dense those practically looked like clothes on their own.

From a combat situation's perspective, no, it makes no sense, but we already have an entire team in space armour, better have some variety, no?
besides, the primary source of protection are kinetic barriers anyway.

that said, I AM tires of the chainmail bikini shtick, female armour can be designed in so much more ways that just slapping metal censor bars over some generic chick.
speaking of which, maybe we need more interesting female characters in the first place.

this is why I liked Jack, she didn't really try to endear herself to anyone, wasn't just a pretty arse bouncing around the room and I thought her far less revealing than the other, fully clothed, female crew-members.

I generally don't care mostly because I usually use a male character anyway. Even when I do use a female character I don't care that much about what my armor looks like because with both sexes I'm usually looking for the next best armor available for me. If it happens to look really cool/sexy then that's just a bonus.

Depends. If I'm supposed to actually give a fuck about the world, and the characters, you can bet I'm gonna want some realistic armours. I can't take a world seriously if it's women are all combat strippers.

But, on the other hand, if it's all supposed to be goofy fun anyway, I am capable of enjoying the odd revealing armour set- it's not the whole "sexualisation of women" thing that bothers me, see, as that happens with every male character ever anyway. Rather, I just hate to see an otherwise straight faced epic underbreasted by breasting breasts. If you catch my drift.

I like it form fitting. Like take FemShep's armor. It's form fitting, sexy and realistic in combat.

It depends. It makes sense that armour designed for women fits the female form, especially with breast-shaped torsos and all that. Chainmail bikinis are a little absurd, though. Unless they're light or magic armour, they should protect the whole body.

according to this logic
Running into battle with 3 bits of masking tape is the way to go ;)

OP: sexy to a point but If the armour becomes impractical it loses score in my books
Screw masking tape, full nudity is where it's at. The female body is impenetrable, after all. Armour just impedes its effectiveness.
Impenetrable? Not for my sword!

*cough cough*

I don't hate it. I just think that it'd be really cold and probably ineffective. Looks good, though, and lets me see what I put effort into on the character creation screen.

Depends on the degree we're talking about.
Different breastplate to accomodate for, you know, breasts? Great, thats actually realistic.
Nothing on the legs and I can see her underwear? Now thats just downright stupid and will annoy me a lot.

If it's like.. Ivy standard, then it just looks silly. And if they're gonna go for a big damage tanking... tank, then I do prefer it to look like it could actually tank damage. Otherwise, eh, not a massive deal.

Weighing in for the girls; I like sexy armour so long as it's not too much, but full armour on women looks pretty epic (I've been looking up Warhammer's Sisters of Battle recently and damn they have some nice armour!). But, if they were to put 'sexy' armour in, say, Halo, I would complain because it would be completely ridiculous and out of place, whereas in x fighting game it's appropriate as it's not meant to be realistic.

Basically, so long as it's cool, I'm down for whatever.

Since chainmail bikinis seem to be the big talking point, I feel I should add somehing. The whole chainmail bikini thing was brought to us by Red Sonja, who was brought to us by Robert E. Howard, creator of Conan. The last time I checked, Conan never ran into any problems rushing into battle wearing only a fur speedo.

Hmm? Sorry, I was just focused on my FemShep's uh... HAIR! That's it! Hair! >_>

I can kind of understand why some people would be annoyed by sexy armor. But I don't really mind it myself. At the end of the day, it's just a game, suspension of disbelief and what not.
I was always a bigger fan of Bayonetta's... hair... Yeah.

Personally, I like sexy stuff as long as it fits in with the rest of the game.

I just want to add, has anyone been to a gym? The guys there, even the super buff, generally wear t-shirts and pants, they have exposed arms. The girls wear enough clothes to make up a t-shirt for a child. (At least at the gyms i've been to). No 14 year old boy with the hand lotion by the mouse (because it gets dry in the basement) chose to dress those girls that way. So it is entirely possible and believable that women choose very impractical gear on their own. I mean look at high heels; they are not comfortable, attactive, practical in any way, yet they exist.

Depends on the game, setting, tone, etc, etc. Honestly though, short of Red Sonja chainmail bikinis I don't have a huge problem with moderately sexualized armor. As someone mentioned early however, its about the context of the character more than anything. Their modesty should reflect their personality/background. And anyone who says females wearing small amounts of armor is unrealistic and silly should keep in mind that (in fantasy settings especially) the big men running around in massive fullplate is also unrealistic and silly. They would have FAR LESS mobility in real life.

It depends on the setting. If the setting is more fantastic or stylized, it doesn't really bother me; a steel bustier totally works as armor for the same reason a flaming boomerang is totally a practical weapon; it just is. Enjoy it.

But if a work's setting is supposedly more realistic or grounded, it becomes a grievance of mine; the 'cheesecake' aspect becomes a lot more obvious when everything else around it is taking itself seriously, and it gets even worse when the developers not only ignore the feel of the world but also its established rules just for the sake of pandering.

Mass Effect 2 was pretty awful about this. I understand the need for distinctive character models, but who let the Shadowrunner on the development team?

Of course, it goes without saying that there's a level of sexualization that just never fits. If you have to wonder whether or not the line is being crossed, it is.

On a side note, while I have no problems whatsoever with chain mail bikinis, it is getting kind of old.

I think a bit more effort should be put into female (and male) armor design - giving us a larger variety of (well designed, nice looking) armor.

It might even attract more female players. Lets face it, girls like nice clothes.**

**You might claim that that is a misogynistic generalization, but look at the "made for girls" stuff hollywood put out - clothes, shoes everywhere.
Look at shoujo manga, the mangakas put a crazy amount of effort into attire design. Why? Because the female audience they target, likes and appreciate that stuff.
