I'm really intimidated by pretty girls and have a hard time flirting with them. I've been on a couple of dates, but nothing serious.

There are a couple of those obnoxious girls who bring over their obnoxious boyfriends and have sex in our lounge. Just like the people we've been talking about. Come in wasted at 3am. Bah! I'd rather have gamers. 'Course that's easy to say...
Freshman year I lived above two gamers. I remember having to stagger downstairs to bang on their door at three in the morning because they were playing videogames and SCREAMING at the top of their lungs. It was like living above a bunch of chimpanzees, I swear.
Yeah after I posted I thought about it. That would be death. I hope they quieted down at least.

Y'know? I think chimpanzees is probably a very accurate description of a lot of gamers.

Nope. Never had one. I'm 19 for the record. Let the taunting - begin!!
Same here. :/
You got me beat by about 8 months though...
Likewise...

19, Never had a girlfriend...

Although I really was never looking for one in high school...

Damn, I hate being a statistic...
Don't worry about it. I'm 19 and I've never dated (but I'm a chick, which is almost worse!). I also know other girls, who are 19, and have never dated. I keep hoping that maybe with all this bad luck and waiting, that the first relationship I get will be the right one. I'm sure the same will go for you guys too.

I just think it's funny how all of the guys at my college are complaining about how they never get girls when a lot of girls I know are single and pretty willing to go out with almost any guy who asks. It's just funny to me.
The main reason I don't date is that I prefer personality and intellect over looks, which tends to make normal dating difficult. It essentially means that I have to get to know someone fairly well before I would even consider asking them out...

It's pretty much a Catch 22 unless we are introduced through a mutual friend or we work together in school...
Whoa! Most guys are the opposite, they take the "dude she's hot, I'd do her." approach (least the guys I know...). I can definitely respect that though. I'm sure once everyone gets older and more mature, it will be easier for you to find someone. I know with me it's been easier to find guy friends I have a potential with (some of them are pretty good lookin' too, along with an awesome personality). I think it's all about maturity and people are finally starting to grow up.

It'll come, Sakurazaki, it'll come...

Yeah... It's no wonder that every male stereotype involves us not using the correct brain for decision making...

It's just a shame that popular culture favors the beautiful and brain-dead. But then again, many girls find arrogance attractive and I fail to understand that either...
Too true, my friend, too true. I think it's all about image? People are concerned with being a "good looking couple." I must admit, I am too, but that won't stop me if I find someone I really like. Plus a lot of it is genetics. In the days of cavemen, the most attractive males/females probably had the best genes. It's only natural.

Either way, I don't understand finding arrogant guys attractive. They actually really annoy me.
I'm really not sure where that arrogant=attractive thing came from, but it may have something to do with making the person seem more confident. Personally, I find an arrogant personality (whether male or female) to either imply self-confidence issues or just a inflated ego. either way it's not attractive in the least...
I agree 100% with everything said. I can't stand obnoxious people. I live on a dorm floor with all obnoxious people. I know there's a difference, but not much of one. It's probably a little of both: self-confidence issues and an inflated ego. If that makes sense? I like people who are confident, but not arrogant.
Same...
Currently living in a dorm surrounded by 6 rude, loud, arrogant, and egotistical idiots. Not to mention that they always have insane sleep schedules so people are yelling in the halls and slamming doors at 2:00am. I usually ignore them for he most part, but its kind of sad that they fit the stereotype for the XBox Live Fanbase.

All six own and regularly play MW2 and Halo 3 Online (all 360s, no PS3s) and since I'm usually able to hear the cursing from across the hall, I know that they fit every stereotype in the book as far as online gaming is concerned.
Ohhhh that would drive me bonkers. I live on a WoW campus which is nice because those people never come out of their rooms and clog up the walkways.

Likewise, my entire dorm is all male.

As far as the lounge thing is concerned, there isn't really much you can do except pray they do something stupid and are forced into never coming back. Kinda makes me wish more people in my dorm were WOW players, I'm sure it would be a lot quieter...
I'm sure that's a mixed thing. Cool to have guys, is there a lot of drama? Guy drama? I live on a girl's floor and there's a girl's floor below me and we're the ONLY two on a campus with a 2:1 guy/girl ratio.

Yeah the RA posted a little note, but since the RA lives on the floor below no one cares up here. Oh well, at least the year's almost done, yeah?

You and me both with the WoW players, my friend. They're nice and quiet.

I wouldn't call it drama per say, just a lot of weird stuff that goes on. I'm sure I'm seeing all of it out of context, but I just came back to the dorm to see two guys playing soccer shirtless in the quad (at 10:00pm) and one of our neighbors carrying a hookah down the hall...

Then again, I may not want to think too much about it...

There are days where so much bizarre stuff happens that I wouldn't be concerned if someone was walking down the hall in a toga. Then again, it might be nice to have a female influence in the building because it might cause people to quiet down once in a while (or at least walk around fully clothed).

We technically have two RAs per floor, but they have high standards for what constitutes chaos so they rarely say anything. I think we have two guys on my half of the hall who are WOW players, but it doesn't help because they are far away from the insanity and I'm surrounded by the party-boys.

On a sort of unrelated topic, I think the backlog from this conversation may crash a server if we keep quoting...

Might want to start responding in PM

Never [sub]although I do want one[/sub] I once-stupidly-made one up because of self driven psychosys after being painfully rejected...
EDIT: I would also like to add that I am intimidated/scard shitless when I'm around pretty girls. Mainly because I always seem to say or do something stupid around them...

Not at the moment and not really looking. I don't have trouble talking to girls though (quite happy about that after reading some posts here) and its good for me as most of my friends are girls, and guys suck.

I'm 27 - 28 in June - and my current girlfriend (and fiancée), whom I met last April, is also my first girlfriend. So I reckon you're safe from the taunting. ;-)

(Incidentally? She's a geek too. And she's in Africa, while I'm in the UK. Going down there next week to spend three or four months in ghastly sunny weather...)
So I no longer have a girlfriend. Or a fiancée.

Y'see, now I have a wife.

I'm 28 on Monday. 18 months ago, I'd never kissed a girl. Now I'm very happily married to a girl who plays 40K - and at whose suggestion we left the church to The Imperial March. With a quick-deploy cape.

So yeah. We're geeks. ;-)
