I'd love for my dogs to hang around with me when I'm on the computer, but they never do. I don't know why though; all they ever do is sleep anyways, why can't it be next to me?

I don't have a pet to have around me while I'm at my computer. Unless the stuffed animal hound dog who sits on my desk counts, but I doubt that. So no pet to have bother me while I'm trying to work, game, or such.

Although if I did have a pet, I probably wouldn't really want it around if I'm actually trying to get something done. I get distracted enough as is without an animal bothering me constantly. Of course, I couldn't have a pet even if I wanted to due to apartment contract, so that solves that problem without having to bother with it.

My dog doesn't seem to like my room. Although she has stayed in it several times while my parents have been away, and when she does it's still nice.

My dog (a collie/lab crossbreed) likes to sit at my feet and use them as a makeshift pillow. She follows me everywhere.

Allergic to animals with fur, and their saliva, so I ain't got one. If I did have a pet though (Probably a cat),then I'd have it by my computer.

Right now I'm back at uni where I have no pets. But when I'm at home for holidays, then I have my laptop on the dining room table, so sometimes my family's dog will sleep at my feet and let me stroke and scratch him with one hand while I type with the other :p. Also, my cat sometimes creeps up and sleeps on my lap while I'm on here, or starts clambering around on my laptop. It's cute when she does it though, so I don't mind :D.

I have them in the same room and within a few feet but I dislike them being at the computer desk. I have three terrier breeds and it only takes one dog to bark to send them all off. I've had my PC switched off by a dog getting alarmed and rushing to the door next to me then promptly sitting on my surge protector extension unit.

Also when a terrier suddenly yelps or barks at yer feet and i'm playing SD on a fps, I jump out of my seat which in turn frightens the dog. The act of me jumping out normally pushes the seat forward/backwards which usually catches a sleeping dogs face or paws.

Oh, I almost forgot. I tend to move around (not loads mind you) but enough that a dog too close to me will have its tail run over!

I abhor having the cat near me.

Have 4 cats and a dog, but it's only my cats who hang out up here (my pup's too old to climb the stairs to the 2nd floor of my house =/).

In my office, I have a cat bed on the desk my comp is on and, when it's not in use, I lay my drawing desk flat so the cats can lay on it and look out the window. I always have 1 cat in the bed on my comp desk, but I will often have 2-3 cats in here with me.

My cat usually sleeps on top of my computer case when I'm gaming or surfing, occasionally grabbing my mouse hand with her claws if she wants to be petted.
If I'm playing PS3 she also tends to go after my hands if I let them drop too close to the ground (got a pretty low couch).
