Heights bother me if I am too close to a ledge, doesn't matter if there is railing or not, my muscles tense up and the slightest touch of anything feels amplified ten-fold. I am also bothered by spiders and just about any bug or insect bigger then the palm of my hand.

Yup. I have severe Social Phobia.
I also had that, but after a few years of therapy, I don't really think it can be classified as a phobia anymore. Now I'm just shy in select situations.

OT: Apart from the social phobia mentioned above, no phobias for me.

I have quite a severe case of Chionophobia, a fear of snow. Makes winter hell, although after 12ish years I'm getting to the point where I can deal with it. Used to be much worse; a ground frost would cause panic attacks, hyperventilation, and fainting. Now, only snow does that, and I can control it to a degree. It just requires a lot of effort.

Beyond that, no proper phobias. I have a huge disliking of spiders and heights, but only snow makes me really freak out.

Doctors, specifically psychiatrists. Which has presented some problems I'll be honest.

Also, the dark.

Edit: Oh, I almost forgot. I'm also terrified of silence.

Edit Edit: Gah, I also forgot that I'm terrified of moths. Last time a moth landed next to me I broke down crying in fear.

Huh, I'm scared of quite a lot things now I write it down.

I've been diagnosed with agoraphobia and a related social phobia. 'Cause, you know, one or the other wouldn't be a good enough way for my brain to torture itself.

Arachnophobia, though I'm slowly getting better.

I still get the urge to shit my pants when I see one, but I no longer want to kill it out of fear.

I have koumpounophobia. It's a fear of buttons. But only the plastic ones with holes, I don't mind the metal ones on jeans for example.

Most people think I'm joking, but unfortunately, I am not.

I have a phobia of moths and butterflies. They're faces are horrifying as are those disgusting dusty wings (or non dusty in the case of butterflies). If I see a caterpillar, I will destroy it because I know of the demon it will one day become O_O

I don't believe for a second that 84 people have phobias as opposed to 31 who say they do not. Phobias are extreme irrational fears, and most people in here will not have phobias. I doubt even 10% of those who said yes in the poll actually have anything close to a phobia. I don't have a phobia, although I may have an irrational fear about something.

And also, a fear of heights isn't an irrational fear, so it's not a phobia.
It's called vertigo.

I have a severe irrational fear of threads about irrational fears.
Thanks, by the way.

Okay, on a more serious note? I do have a hard time convincing myself people in authority will not ridicule me to a ludicrous degree if I ask them ...well anything really, but I dont think its quite on a phobia level. Still, makes uni a bit more difficult than it needs to be.

I have one common one, arachnophobia, and one really weird one, trypophobia, which is the fear of clusters of holes (example: lotus seed pods). It gives me goosebumps and makes me feel itchy and very uncomfortable. Bleargh, I hate it.

I have a phobia of slow, painful death.
Examples include burning to death, drowning, being buried alive, and so on.

None that i have run across.

I got a couple of rational fears but phobias are not in the mix and there is nothing in my experience that has completely paralyzed me.

I hate people. People tend to not like this answer very much and then launch into a argument on why I am the problem. Problem with that theory is that it makes me hate them even more. More or less it's a phobia with no cure that comes with crappy advice.
Being a misanthrope is not a phobia.

As for me, nope. All the things I fear can genuinely hurt me.
