Yes.
I have the Assassin's symbol from Assassin's Creed on my arm, and am considering getting the creed under it.

MAJOR coolness. I have some Japanese, that I DID look up and ask to have done, I didn't choose it from a book. lol! Its on my hip.
Old drinking mate of mine had 'Contents May Ignite Under Pressure' in japanese on the side of his neck. He chose that, though, as a commentary on his bad temper.

Best tatt I've seen was a guy I used to go to art school with who had the foreground from a page out of Where The Wild Things Are, the scene where Max and the Wild Things are dancing, across the back of his shoulders.

Anyway, if you end up going for it, check your artist thoroughly beforehand, I have friends with some of the most horrible work you've ever seen because they decided to go to cheaper artists. Just remember that most of the well known artists have insane schedules, you might have to book the appointment 6 months in advance (As I've had to do).
Only 6 months? One of the tatt artists I know is usually booked up from anywhere between 9 and 12 months. Most of the others are 3-6 month and one guy who only finished his apprenticeship a few years back is usually only a few weeks, although that'll get longer as his rep builds... I really should get some work done by him while he's still affordable and easy to get a booking for.

The other thing to check is the artist's style and pick the best artist with the style that matches closest to your wants in a design. You won't get optimum results if your design calls for intricate lines and subtle shading but the artist's style is all bold line and vivid colour work.

A tribal covering the upper portion of my right arm, my right shoulder and shoulder blade, with 2 Chinese symbols meaning Strength and Wisdom in the centre on my right shoulder.

Well, I don't have any tattoos. Yet, that is. I've been going through different ideas the past year or two. I just need to get them drawn on paper so I'll know what they really look like. That way I'll be sure if I want to go ahead and get them or not. I'm almost 100% sure I will get them, but I just need the time to see the drawings of my ideas. I don't want to rush into something like a tattoo.

Speaking of which, I was planning on going to this shop near my house to ask them if they could draw my designs. Now, I was thinking of getting them done when I'm back home in Houston(I'm living in Costa Rica at the moment), since I have friends there who have tattoos and know places and artists. Problem is, will they have a hard time matching the drawings since they were drawn by someone else?

I have no objections with tattoos, but I think getting one of your favorite band is a mistake. Inevitably you'll move on to something else, and this tattoo will just be a massive regret.

I got my first tattoo a few days ago actually. About half-way through getting it I started thinking about what other tattoos I want to get in the future so be prepared to want more.

Here's a picture of mine:

Yup, yup. As I've posted many a time. Just a relatively small one though. I don't think I'd like anything bigger on myself but I like larger ones on others.

I got one. I drew it myself and gave it to the tattoo guy to make.

My recommendation: Think long, long, and long about the design you want. After all, it's for life. You want to make sure it's a good one!

Nope.

Although I can sort of see the appeal.

But most of the tattoos people actually have look ugly as all hell, "meh" at the very best. I can only remember seeing one tattoo that I thought actually looked good.

Winters a pretty slow time for most artists, i lucked out with a cancellation too (was originally gonna be waiting until the end of march) and was bumped up the list.

My friend got a tattoo, the artist didn't punctuate his quote he he. I don't have one, I kind of want one, but I don't really know what I want so I won't ever get one.

For anyone trained it's a pretty simple thing to do. They'll make a line-drawning transfer of your artwork (sort of like those lick'n'stick 'tattoos' kids get with cheap gum but without the saliva) and work from that for the line work. After that it's all down to how well they can copy the shading and/or colour from your artwork, which isn't too hard but it's still a better bet to go with an artist who's style is somewhat close to your art style.

I'd advise against getting a band logo stamped on your chest, your favourite band at 18 will not be your favourite band in your 30s and 40s, so really think about it before you go for it.

Now, on the topic, I have a small memorial tattoo of The Rev from Avenged Sevenfold, and while that may seem hypocritical considering what I've just said, I thought long and hard about getting it from the day he died to the time I got it, which was about a year, the difference is, this ink actually holds a hell of a lot of meaning, as well as multiple meanings. (That and I actually did meet the guy, had quite a deep conversation with him too.)

It's simple, I got the FOREVER script from the front of the Nightmare album, on the tombstone inked on my wrist, and believe me when I say the only reason I even considered it is because it's extremely significant for me, I go to sleep seeing it as a reminder to live my life every day like it's my last, to just enjoy everything I have and not let stupid things keep me down.

What I don't understand is people who have gone out and gotten the Deathbat inked on themselves at 18.

I don't have any at the moment because 1) I'm underage and 2) I don't know what I want yet but I will get some in the future. I'm planning to get one on the back of my neck.
