I have to do it in every game that involves flying. I don't know, it's just always come naturally to me that way. The thing is, if it's not inverted, I normally don't notice it, I just suck really bad lol.

I actually am left handed but I don't invert the Y axis.
I let my friend borrow Resident Evil 4 once and he inverted the axis. I tried to play through it at his house with it inverted and just couldn't do it.
I like the reticule to move in the direction I push.

In my house, if we're hot-seating a game, I get nagged for constantly inverting the Y-Axis. My housemates say I must be a witch... like those sinister left-handed folk!

I want to prove to them that I'm certainly not alone in my inverted Y-axis persuasion.
hey man what the hell! im left handed, well actually i am rather sinister well never mind no offense taken and i dont invert so there you go we arent freaks..
Haha! Sorry, dude. Just referencing the old, unenlightened days where people could be persecuted for aspects they cannot change. Not like today, no siree.

:p

Looks like the 'non-inverters' hold the majority, but overall a good spread!

I used to invert all the time, playing those oldies like Timesplitters, then I started to play Halo CE when it came out at my friends house, and he didn't want me to change his control layout, for some stupid reason, so I converted to non inverted from then on :p

Still use it for flight games though, it just feels right for them.

Console aircraft: yes
Console infantry: yes
PC aircraft: yes
PC infantry: no

While this seems like I am almost completely inverted, the amount of time I spend on a console is measured in hours per year, and the amount of time I spend in aircraft on a PC is pretty small compared to the amount of time I'm on foot.

So I'm at least 85% non-inverted.

I can see where people would want to not invert their y-axis, up being up makes sense. But when I first started gaming, I played alot of flight simulators, one of the old ace combat games was a favorite among my middle school friends and I have inverted ever since. I have done both, but I personally think inverting is more intuitive, like what ThatJagoGuy said, It feels like your pivoting a camera from behind over a fulcrum.

Although, It is very difficult to do the minor directions with inverted (you know, up and to the right, or down and to the left, etc.) But the only game that being able to easily look in minor directions was important was online Halo. So other than exteemly competitive online FPS's I always invert.

I only use inverted camera on City of Heroes/Villains. Anyhting else and its up is up and down is down.
It drove me crazy that it was inverted on coh/cov.

Was normal to them inverted? Cos it seemed that way, I have to change it every time I log in and it lies and says the camera is normal but it isnt.
yep, it defaulted to inverted camera and I hated it so much.

Those sneaky bar-stewards, although it is still my favourite MMO and PC game... in fact, I actually played it inbetween my last 2 posts. :D Corrupters/Blasters for the win!

Wait... are people who are left handed supposed to go inverted? Because I am a lefty and I hate inverted controls, I just can't handle it! Up is up, down is down, up is up, down is down, up is up, down is down, ARGH!!!

My step-brother did that, i guess he just stopped because everyone got annoyed with the fact that he always paused the games to change the Y-axis and he was the only person that ever paused it!

It belongs in flight environments and other crap where three-dimensional high-speed movement is the norm, but anything else, and... well, yeah, burn her as a witch.

Good god, no. I have friends who invert - if they ever hand off controllers to me, the next few seconds are huge WTF moments for me. I can kind of get used to it, but it feels really uncomfortable and just wrong.

If you're fling there is no choice ... and if you want to get specific, inverted would be normal ... if that makes sense, since planes are like that ... or ... I'll stop there.

Normally though HELL no! Up is Up and Down is Down! - except in a plane of course ...

I used to invert all the time, now I cannot play with invert if my life depended on it. I don't know why, I guess I grew out of it?

Only when playing a flight sim using an actual joystick. I never do with a gamepad. Too confusing.
