I hope people judge me by my avatar. I'm quite proud of it.

Only interesting avatars get taken into account by me. I've also noticed the overwhelming amount of pony avatars here.

Can I get a Nope.avi?

The only thing that makes me judge someone is what they actually say on the forums.

No but if they have a sufficiently awesome avatar then I automatically assume theyre cool :D
You would say that, yours is Kamina.

Doesn't get more awesome than that.

No. Wait...do people do that? Are you implying someone is judging me right now based on my forum avatar?! *fetal position*
Well I think it's amusingly cute.

The only time avatars really effect me is if someone doesn't have one, but I do get a little fixated on animated ones. But I don't think it effects how I judge the person. It's nice to have a memorable or unusual one.

Id actually argue that Adult Simon become just as much, if not more of a badass than Kamina XP

I just wish I could've used a higher resolution GIF of Kamina though T.T

If it's anime? I assume they like said anime. Pony? I assume they like said pony. Musical? I assume they like said music.

It's why avatars are there!

Simon does get awesome, but Kamina is just more instantly recognizable as a badass.

I love that anime so much. T_T

Also, HA! I found a gif of Ciel, rollin in style now.

I spent an hour in Adobe After Effects to make mine. Perhaps a detective could use that as a clue to track the sites I might potentially visit. Also, the fact that I bothered to spend so much time on my image probably says something about me. Other than that, I can't think of anything.

I don't look at most peoples avatars at all. The only time I'll remember one is when I'm discussing something with someone in a thread, or the person is very prolific a poster.

So what about you guys? To be judged or not to be judged?
If it's offensive, then why not ?
Afterall why someone would use Hitler, xxx movie screenshot or something like this for avatar ?

I usually don't specifically JUDGE, but if I recognize the character in their avatar, I usually read their posts in that character's voice (which can throw me if it turns out that Fluttershy avatar has a dude on the other end).

While it does give an insight into the views or interests of the person behind it it's definitely not enough for me to instantly judge that person as a whole.

Your avatar could be of an obscure anime, an over-done meme or a pastel-coloured pony and I wouldn't care any more or less for it.

Depends on how visually memorable the avatar is, but yes, I do.

I can't help it, I'm very visually oriented. Shallow, but true.

If it's particularly memorable or noticeable then yes, otherwise I'll look at it to see if I recognise the person but I won't make assumptions about them since for the most part avatar choices seem to be pretty random.

Why do I get a feeling this thread is a result from that member admitting being judgemental toward memebers with pony avatars in that pony thread yesterday?
OT- No I don't since I'm not a judgemental type of guy in real life. Beside it's only a small/ medium image (pub member) so it not like it can offend me.

Only in that if they don't have one, I generally don't pay them much attention.

If you can't be bothered sticking up a little image to represent yourself on this forum, I can't imagine you've put much thought into your posts either.
Why would I want an avatar, though? I don't want to put my actual photo up, as this is the internet and I'd like to stay anonymous. Using a cartoon character or celebrity as my online representation would just feel fake. I wouldn't want to attract unwarranted positive or negative sentiment based on my choice of pop-culture icon. Quite the opposite; I hope that people pay attention to (and respond to) my actual posts, not my avatar or those stupid forum badges or any of the other false and easily-changed trappings of online persona.

I see these forums discriminate against people with avatar deficiency.
You judgmental bastards, you should be better then that!

i doubt most people would even know what my avatar is, even on a gaming forum. its hard to judge people on a picture they like, especially when 90% of them are anime/gaming/pony related, exactly what you would expect to see on a GAMING forum
Looks familiar.

It's either from Final Fantasy 8, or Dirge of Cerberus.

I could be wrong though.

OT: Nah, I don't judge people by their avatar.

Well, unless they're ponies, because fuck ponies.
