Yes, and I will never forget what he said when he got it:

"About damn time, now I can prove to all you idiots that its no more deadly than the regular flu."

All he did was take it easy for a few days, ate well, got plenty of sleep, and he was fine.

When he was back he said "I told you so."

The swine flu isn't any more deadly than any other type of flu, sure, its good that they cought it early, but it was blown way out of preportion.

chances are, most of you have seen people with the swine flu, just not known it cause you thought "oh, they just have the flu." a lot of the people i know have had flu like symptoms over the past few weeks (different people having it over the past few weeks, not a group of people having it all together for weeks), and they didnt bother to go to the doctor to see if it was the swine flu or not, so they might have had it for all they know.

theres really a fine line between "influenza" and "H1N1"

Only a handful of local yokels. Not like I'd care if a friend/family member gets sick. Only if it's SERIOUS.

But I honestly wish everyone would just SHUT UP about the bloody flu!
(Oh, see what I did? It's ALL flu!)
You get sick, you pull through, and a few of the bloody unlucky ones bite the dust. Live life, move on, dust to dust, BLAH BLAH BLAH. Nothing new.

One of my friends had it (she has other health problems so she went straight to the doctor when she got sick and voila H1N1 but don't worry she got better), I'm pretty sure other friends have had it/ are having it, but its hard to tell it apart from just really bad regular flu. Either way I'm not worried, its not killed anyone I know yet.

About 30 people in my school, including me.

It's just like the normal flue, nothing special. I was only out for like 5 days (including 2 days of weekend).

I have not talked to a single Canadian who has had H1N1, or known anyone who has had it.

It's like it doesn't exist here... o-o'

I do. He was put in quarantine for a bit then got over it and is fine now. He was talking to me online the entire time and said it wasn't that bad.

A girl from my rpg crew caught it. It messed her up less than normal flu. She actually quite enjoyed it 'cause she'd dug her old snes out that weekend and got to stay at home playing on it rather than going into work on Monday (when her boss found out she had swine flu, he said she'd get full sick pay even though she hadn't been working there long enough, because he was scared she might come in otherwise, and pass it on to him).

It's not the numbers that have been blown out of proportion, it's the severity of the disease, it's no worse that the normal flu
Exactly. The numbers are huge, but are far less than the seasonal flu (which kills more people every year in the US alone than H1N1 has killed in the world, ever)

I personally feel the whole thing about H1N1 was blown out of proportion. Anyway do YOU actually know anyone with it? I'm willing to bet the percentage wouldn't get into the double digits if people were honest.
Scientifically, it is exactly the same as the regular flu. It was just transmitted from pigs.

Lotta kids absent at my school.

The Swine isn't really blown out of proportion. It is a pretty standard flu, but it's quite contagious.
