I was wondering who knew the words to theirs. Yesterday, at a gig some guys behind me started singing ours before the band came on, they got the whole crowd singing. I only knew the "God save our gracious queen" so I just mumbled the rest.
Looking at it though, it's not exactly a hard song to remember.

God save our gracious Queen!
Long live our noble Queen!
God save the Queen!
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us,
God save the Queen.

To add more discussion, so I don't just get yes or no answers, do you partake in patriotism? Hand on heart, tears down the cheek when your flag goes up?
Do you feel strong emotions when you sing it?

[sub]
Do I sound like a therapist with the barrage of questions? [/sub]

No I don't know the words, no, no, no (unless boredom counts as a strong emotion), and [sub]no[/sub], respectively.

If you don't just want yes or no answers, you should ask open questions, not closed ones. ;)

I know the words to the Canadian national anthem. It's not hard to remember. I know it in French as well.

Tears don't go down my cheek when the flag goes up, but my hand does go on my heart.

I don't really get any strong emotions though.

I do know my national anthem, and think it's pretty pitiful when people don't. Take some pride in your country, dammit.

I don't do the whole bleeding-heart patriotism thing, but I do feel good when it plays. I don't do the hand and hat usually though, since I very rarely end up hearing it unless I'm in the marching band, and apparently as a para-military organization we're simply supposed to stand at attention.

Yeah, it's hard not to.
Sing it for every and any goddamn public event.

I kinda like our anthem though so it doesn't bother me that much.
(I live in Texas btw.)

I know the first verse to mine... But know the old Confederate and Union, as well as modern American anthems by heart

Yes I do, unlike most in my country (well, at least the parts that are actually sung on a regular basis). We have a shitty anthem though that really doesn't make sense any more in this day and age.

Ours anthem has about eleven stanzas, if I remember well. I used to know all the words, but now I pretty much forgot everything save for the first few lines...

Well, the first verse isn't exactly hard, as you said. The second and third are much harder to remember and most people don't even know they exist.

Yes, I do. It used to be mandatory to join in in singing it once a week at an assembly at my primary school. Guess it stuck.
Although nowadays when asked to partake in such a display, I just stand respectfully and wait it out. I find it hard to express pride in a country when I can't stand the direction its heading.

Hope that covers your questions XD

I sung it in the pub the other day for the england match, only one on my table who knew all the words and correct timing. I don't get emotional with it, but some of the older men in the pub were nearly in tears. I'm not that patriotic either, it's hard to when you're part english, part irish, part scottish and part french :p

I do know the first verse of our anthem. But it is because I was thought so.
I don't feel myself very connected to my country nor the people. So no, I am no patriot. The only things I am willing to die for are mine alone to chose for. Not because of some borders or national pride. A few years ago, there was a discussion about changing our anthem for something more modern. If by modern they ment shallow stupidity, I would have agreed.

Nope. I may be able to mumble a few lines here and there, but only on a good day.
I've considered learning it before, just for the sake of knowing, but...Blind patriotism burns, and in most of the situations where I've encountered one, the other was quick to follow.

So yeah, I've sadly connected the anthem with my extended family, and I can't get through more than a few words before I'm rolling my eyes and walking away.

Actually I know the whole British antheme but only the first third of our own... so I guess that's a "not all the words".

No I don't. As a matter of fact I'm not even sure what my country is called at the moment. I'm totally serious about this. I was born in Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, then came the wars so it became Federal republic of Yugoslavia. Then it changed again into state union of Serbia and Montenegro. Nowadays i think it is called republic of Serbia. So basically I lived in 4 different countries without ever having to move :)
As for the patriotism, no I'm not in the least. The violent non tolerant idiots here have ruined every bit of national pride I ever had or ever will have.
