In recent times, i have found myself contemplating my future and drawing a blank. I'm 19 and have no clue as to what my future has in store for me.

Tell me forum. Do you have a concrete plan for your future? or are you still undecided like me?

I'm graduating college this year with a degree in computer science and have signed a contract to program for Microsoft.
I have a steady girlfriend and we are probably gonna get married, so yeah, I have a general idea of what my future is gonna be like.
I'm currently 22, by the way.

Go ahead, plan for your future. It just makes it doubly funny when life kicks you in the gut.

The problem with plans is they never seem to go as... well... planned. I am 28 now and I have a B.S. in Computer Science, a background in law enforcement and medical, and I still have no idea where I will end up. I had it all planned out when I was young, I wanted to be an intelligence officer like my father. I ended up getting injured and the military wouldn't take me. So I decided I like computers why not work in that field. I got my degree and ended up working at a prison. After the prison I worked at a couple of hospitals as a Cardiac Tech only to realize I hate working in the medical field. I went on to owning my on computer repair shop (my favorite so far), but the economy in my area wouldn't support it. So now I do telephone tech support for the 360 and make what I consider trash money.

Going on 21 and I got nothing in mind. Thinking but still no idea. "Some people don't know what they want to do until they're 40." Thanks for that bit reassurance...

Well im half way through a degree in Biomedical Science so im gonna get a job as a Biomedical Scientist (fingers crossed) but past that i hvnt planned for anything.

TBH the less plans you make the better, just go with what you enjoying doing, find a career you have a passion and remember that opportunities have a tenancy to appear when you need them most. U'll b grand xD

I have a good idea of what I want to do with my life.

I am about to graduate with a Business Management degree, and from there, work towards opening my own business or holding a management position at a company I like. From there is anyone's guess, but roleplaying, technical writing, and business management are my focuses.

I'm taking a gap year before I go off to university and I have no idea what I'm going to do for the duration of that. Aside from that, I'm going to the university of Westminster in London to study English Literature. After that I'm not sure, but I plan to do something in writing, whether that be a journalist, columnist or a novelist. Ideally the latter, but y'know, that's like dreaming of being a rockstar.

No one have a complete hold of their future. All I can say there is a desire outcome I want to archieve but the road to getting there is a bumpy one.

your right it is double the fun when that happens. but what is even more fun is giving life the middle finger and going and doing what you set out to do in the first place.

Something computer-related. That's all I know.

Oh, or Mars-related. Even better if it's a computer-related job on Mars. That would be awesome.

You need another poll option: a "yes, a general plan for the next few years, but not much beyond that" kind of option. Because that's me. I've got my basic career path figured out for the next decade. Beyond that? No frakking clue. Marriage, hobbies, where I'll live, etc. is completely up in the air.

I'm trying to get through college so I can spend three years at smaller game studios before jumping aboard the crew at Bungie.

If all goes as planned...

15 years old, and going to 6th form purely to have more time to decide what I want to do when I am older. I have no idea.

I'm 23 and have no idea what I want to do with myself career wise. I've worked at Blockbuster, which I loved doing but they have died almost completely in my area (and have filed bankruptcy anyway). I've worked in a restaurant setting and would much rather cook than deal with customers. I've worked Best Buy and hated it. I currently work Gamestop and can't stand that either. I dislike sales >.>

Ideally, I'd like to live as a stay-at-home, house husband. Seems kind of...not feasible in the current economic climate.
