He was able to read in Japanese, Korean, German, and English at the age of four... the same age he also started solving calculus problems.
He was invited to live and study in the United States at the behest of NASA when he was seven, and received his PhD in Physics at 16.
He also has a PhD in Civil Engineering.
Well I don't know how old you are so.megapenguinx said:Actually the drop off rate begins around mid 20's.Vlane said:Your IQ drops if you get older. You should know that if you are that smart.megapenguinx said:184....
and that was in second grade. I think it should have increased by now, considering I've never done anything to damage my brain (although I did visit 4chan a few times). I was a member of MENSA, but I didn't want to pay the member fee's so I dropped out.
EDIT: Hmm, bad memory. I think it was either 164 or 174. I just remember it was about 150.
Like I already mentioned - Sadness increases with intelligence.Jaythulhu said:Having done a proper test under the watchful eye of a qualified gp, I can report that my IQ is 172. That said, having a high IQ doesn't make you smart. What does, I can't say, I'm not qualified, but I do know that high IQ people are just as prone to sheer idiocy as people with low IQs.
I've often wondered if the old idiom that ignorance is bliss is true, but as one of those darned thinking types, I guess I'm destined to be depressed, what with being able to understand exactly what IS going on in the world, as opposed to what the ignorant believe is going on.
Fair enough, I turned 18 last June.Vlane said:megapenguinx said:Actually the drop off rate begins around mid 20's.Vlane said:Your IQ drops if you get older. You should know that if you are that smart.megapenguinx said:184....

I absolutely agree with everything you've said. Hence why I had my test done through a qualified GP. Only 8 points off qualifying for a mensa application, sucky eh? Ah well, I prefer to hang with so-called "average" people. It's far more fun, and isn't that the whole point of life? To enjoy yourself? The few times I've hung out with the Intelligencia Brigade, I've wanted to dish out smacks upside the head.Abedeus said:By the way, all of the Internet tests (except for high IQ society ones, like Mensa or the likes) are NOT viable. Only country-wide or bigger are viable.
Not to nag or anything, but I think I know the reason for my social problems.Jaythulhu said:I absolutely agree with everything you've said. Hence why I had my test done through a qualified GP. [Edit] I did have that test done a few years ago. It's entirely possible that I've lost a number of points through aging and trying to avoid the intellectual elitism that often comes with a high IQ. Can't say I've succeeded, but at least I've tried.
