They're vicious murdering little buggers. They're fine if they stay overseas but they don't belong here in Australia. And anyone in Australia who lets their cat roam outside is not a responsible pet owner.

Ah, cats. One of the few things I have developed a profound and irrational affection for.
Just seeing a cat makes my day.

I'm crazy about them. I always have been. I like the small ones, the big ones, the really big ones; and the little ones really like me. I'm a cat beacon; lots of them just walk up to me and want my attention or follow me. I'm gonna go hug my kitties now.

Definitely! I am a cat person, I don't like dogs at all and my preferred pet above all else is a cat/kitten. I have been taking care of cats (especially stray cats, they have always been drawn to my houses and we always had cat food and other cat items even if we didn't own cats since we would take care of them. My house was a always a sanctuary for cats) since I was little so I am most comfortable and familiar with them.

I like cats in general, but if one feélix felicis is going to spend some time around me it starts to matter a lot on how said cat behaves. On one hand a friend of mine used to have a roommate who owned a yellow cat (doesn't deserve to be called by a name, just yellow cat)... the most annoying cat I've ever met, this girl never taught him limits so he would do any kind of fuckups all the time, even after being almost an adult cat. On the other hand I have two frinds who own a grey cat (don't know his name), I've been to thier house just a few times but that cat is sooo friendly anyway, first it hides and watches from a distance, then, if everything seems ok, he approches and looks at people with the most curious look. The first time I went to said house it approched me and after just a few scratches he was lying on the floor belly-up meowing. Nice cat.
I write this as my dog stares at me and demands his food with some acute howls and the occasional punch (he's a boxer, paw punches are common), adorable, love him :D

I used to be a dog person, but after working in an animal shelter, god they are so loud.

Cats on the other hand, are adorable and quiet.

No. Quite simply, I've been bitten and clawed by cats several times, but never by dogs. I'm not really an animal person at all, but I would put myself in the dog (or ferret!) camps before cats. I'm also allergic, which is reason enough besides the personality clashes.

They also aren't in your butt 24/7. Dogs are way too much like children for me to want one on my own. I love my cat, he's the right mix between affectionate and independent. He greets people and loves being petted by anyone.
