I was kinda born there. So I feel I can't be entirely objective in this poll. They are really ahead of pretty much everyone else when it comes to "green" urban planning, though so I love Germany both personally and professionally.

Really? This is really a question? Do you hate Germany for one thing some insane person did 70 years ago. You may not have said it but thats what we are thinking.

Germany has some of the best Doctors, Great food and is one of the most Eco friendly countries in the world. Hell they have a city that uses no fossil fuels.

Just because one man did something bad in the past doesn't mean anything. George Washington tried to take over Canada when both countries were still young and we don't hate USA

Well, they make good cars (and I'd love to try the Autobahn), but never having been there, I can't fairly say.

You mean Germany? The country with zero-tolerance for drunk drivers, the country that teaches the hell out of the war that made them infamous instead of denying it ever occurred?

Love them Krauts.
I've talked to my German teacher once and he said that WW1 and WW2 is omitted in German schools. The wars is of coarse a uncomfortable topic to Germans.

I probaly have spend more time in history and polittics and social studies regarding the wars, the holocaust, and everything that came from that then on math. (some classes even went 200 miles to the Tank museum. lol) We collectivly invaded the privacy of a thirteen year old girl. We analysed every freakin' speech Hitler held.

Your teacher is wrong.

OT: I like Germany. It's beautiful. If I could just leave all the lower class people out. And the politics. Our politics are really, really dumb.

What's good for the Russian is death to the German.

Sorry, I like Germany and Germans and all, but German spotless efficiency is essentially the opposite of what draws me to a place.

Never been there, can't really comment. As long as it's not like the Germany that took part in the World Wars, I'm fine with it.

THE OPPOSITE is true. In German schools you get so many topics in all social / cultural related courses there is NO chance that you don´t know about the WW1 Nazies, the Holocaust and WW2, even if you opt out of school at the earliest possible chance.

I HOPED there is zero tolerance for drink and drive.
Today you can have 4 promille of alcohol in your blood an get away.
It was in ex-DDR (GDR) eastern Germany where they had zero tolerance for alcohol.

Why wouldn't I?
They're a good country and have an epic language.
And I'm not the type to hate a country because of their apeshit genocidal dictators from nearly a century ago.

Well you are right about the history stuff, but about the alcohol you are wrong.
For everyone under 21 and all novice drivers you have zero-tolerance - otherwise it's 0.5 per mill, but if there are deficits in your driving even less can be a misdemeanour.
Some northern european countries have 0.2
