I still have my Gameboy, NES and DS-i. All computergames I played in my youth were on the Nintendo. So yes I like Nintendo, but I'm not a Nintendo fanboy. Nor do I have anything with consoles from the other two.
I like how Nintendo is not scared of experimenting on trying new things.
I hope they stay strong and make Zelda, Metroid and Mario-games for ever.
But they really need to ditch the motion control-gimmick. Motion control is evil and should be purged from this planet.

If you're going to make multiple "Do you like [Item]" threads, at least make more options - middle ground needed.
Yes please. "No" frequently implies negative feelings, while I have none for Nintendo one way or the other.

The poll needs a indifferent option, I neither like or dislike Nintendo. They pass under my radar so to speak as I am not part of the demographic which they are targeting.
The question is 'Do you like Nintendo'. If you can neither like nor dislike, that's a no because you just said you don't like them. We don't need a third option the two cover all of the bases.

I still like and respect Nintendo and am very content with my 3DS. I'm also interested in the Wii U but there isn't quite enough games on it to justify buying it yet. I see myself picking it up later down the line.

I would have chose 'meh' if listed, because they've existed out if my range of care for some years now.

So that's not to say I hate them, it'd be like hating a old friend you just sort of outgrew, he went in his direction you went yours. But then I suppose it could be considered a bigger insult to not be acknowledged anymore I suppose.

Well, I own more of their systems than all other console manufacturers combined. I've got every console except the Wii U and every handheld starting with the GBA. My relationship with them is also by far the oldest. As far as I'm concerned, they have the best track record as first party developer out of all the big players (past and present). Their hardware also seems like it is consistently reliable, since I've never had any of their products crap out on me. Their stuff may not always be the most technologically impressive, but it'll work and it'll keep on working.

Does this mean I like them? I suppose so, maybe. Though I will admit my opinion of them is more based on my own nostalgia and their past achievements than anything they're doing nowadays. They have given me lots of fond memories, but they don't have my unyielding loyalty. The Wii U has so far left me completely uninterested and while I do own a 3DS, I feel like its library is still rather disappointing compared to its predecessors.

I don't necessarily dislike Nintendo - indeed, I've got a great deal of respect for what they do and for the innovations they've brought to the gaming industry. But their games and systems have never done anything for me personally. I've never owned a Nintendo console and it's unlikely I ever will, Mario and Zelda have never done anything for me.

I've just never felt like I'm part of their target market. And I'm probably not. And that's fine. So I don't like them, but it's not like I actively dislike them or anything either. We just have nothing to do with each other.

Well they published both metroid prime and super smash bros. so they'd pretty much have to fill my nutsack with flesh eating worms before I feel any ill will towards them.

I saw that my post had low content.
I just wanted to say I like the handhelds of Nintendo, because I can easily find Rpgs (especially on the DS) and more are coming and there are mostly no bugs.

I love Nintendo. They brought me into gaming and their first party games will always give me a reason to stay. More then half of the series i'm invested in are by their hand. I don't always agree with the path they take, the later Wii period in which we could only beg them to trow us a bone dissapointed me greatly. Them being somewhat storyphobic annoys me a bit but thats one of the few problems i have with them.

Despite their sometimes shady dealings with other companies Nintendo remains one of the more honest brands in this industry, at least to the consumers. No day one dlc, on disc dlc, online passes or always online crap. Its true they never really bothered with dlc untill recently but that can be counted as a good thing. Their first venture in dlc in Awekening seems to be of the good kind, extra content for a content heavy game.

I grew up with a Playstation. The only thing I am nostalgic for related to Nintendo is Super Mario Bros & Super Mario World.

I had a bad view of Nintendo in years past. Sometimes when I found a friend that had it, I played on their Nintendo 64. I never hated a controller quite as much, and I disliked every game I ever played for it. Even the bits of Ocarina of Time I was allowed to play. I thought they had been left in the dust by Sony at that point, even if my memories of playing their Super Nintendo were fond. The Wii's complete lack of interest in implementing a decent controller was not alluring to me at all. Motion control was implmented in games simply because the tool was there, even when a button would have been better.

That changed when I got my DSi. Mobile gaming had become The Last Homely House west of the Japanese Sea for japanese RPGs, platformers, everything that wasn't gritty, enfatuated with realistic graphics and guns. They still serviced niche markets because the games' development costs weren't through the roof. They could be more innovative than in the consoles because games didn't cost as much to make. They could be more old shool because they didn't need to make so much money back.

Now I have a 3DS. I've enjoyed playing Super Mario 3D Land and I'm playing The Ocarina of Time again. Only this time I'm enjoying it. The gyroscopical control is a lot better for aiming than the original analogue was (you still can use it though), the touch screen is used to add virtual buttons in addtion to the physical ones, with big enough icons that it's very comfortable to use.

So I like Nintendo more than I did when I was a kid. They're a good game developer and their portables have a pretty good library of games. Also, if I were to buy a console this generation it would likely be the Wii U.

I like Nintendo, always have, hopefully always will. I like their IP's and I like their balls. Yeah. Their willingness to at least be different.

I mean, there are some things that piss me off about them like region locking their home consoles and the 3DS (>:I). But overall, those aren't really that big of gripes.

I'm going to try and support the WII U & 3DS by trying to buy a good library for them and try to get my friends to buy them. Their the only real first party developer that feels like a video game company first. Can't really say the same for Microsoft & Sony.
