I had to use it with Lost planet 2( and section 8 prejudice =( ) and it was such a piece of shit that I will never buy another game with it, unless it cost me 5$

Like most things PC gamers put up with like DRM, no support for non 360 controllers, and the lack of patches to fix very simple bugs. I only use GFWL when im forced to due to a game ive bought.

Other then that its a POS and just another facet of MS trying to force PC gamers into 360 gamers. Remember MS arnt intrested in PC gaming, its the non gaming aspects of the PC where they reign supreme so forcing all the PC gamers on to their console is a win-win for them.

Luckly since the PC is open ended, there are ways bypass some of the crap they try to force upon us

It's Microsofts answer to Steam; an inexplicably buggy, difficult to use, user-unfriendly, system hogging waste of Hard Drive space.

But it has Age of Empires Online on it so I didn't have much of a choice... :p

Once you get past the hour-long inefficient setup process it's just a minor slow-loading annoyance. But really there's nothing on GFWL worth playing that you can't buy much cheaper elsewhere.

EDIT: Though you do get a couple of freebie games so I didn't mind too much. Though really, GOG.com had five free games so it's not entirely a plus...

It's utterly useless for me. I don't have xbox live, I don't multiplayer, I don't buy stuff from them. If I didn't HAVE to have it for some games that shit would be gone. The only thing it's giving me is yet another account name and password I have to remember even though I never use it

I use it occasionally but I don't like it. I would probably never use it if I wasn't already an xbox live gold subscriber.

The only things I've bought from it were the one day specials they were doing a while back, like Age of Empires 3 for 10p.

I used it for dawn of war 2, and i hated it because when i get friends to join me for pc games we end up using the xbox live party system to chat instead of game chat. If you don't know, windows live uses the same account (unless you make it with a seperate one) so you can't be online with both.

I despise GFWL... every time I've had to deal with it, it has been a useless piece of crap that only gets in the way and seems to spike the rate at which the game crashes.

Yeah, I really which I hadn't missed that deal; I only found out after it had finished from one of my mates.

Wow, that's a lot of criticism; I never realised people despised it that much. Perhaps its better the poll failed (due to the mysterious warp void that is my connection to the internet) because I can't see anyone having said they would recommend it or such. I think most people would have checked the "IT MUST BURN!" option.

It's on my computer, but it does whatever the Window 7 equivalent to collecting dust is.

God no, I loathe it with a passion. I installed it under protest so I could play Bioshock 2 (shouldn't have bothered really, that games was quite a disappointment). I will probably never again buy a game that requires GFWL if I can help it, unless it's a truly amazing gem of a game and comes with a blowjob dispenser.

Like most people here, I've used it because I had to before and had nothing but bad experiences with it.

I have some games that support it,but I never use it.
I tried it but meh..
I can play games both in single player and multiplayer just fine without it and it just doesn't have anything to really make me want to use it.
The only thing that it gives you are achievements(in some games),but I learned that a bit late, and I didn't like achievements on my Xbox in first place.

I guess I must be really lucky. I don't have any problems with it and it lets me chat to my friends if they're on XBL while I'm playing on the PC. Would rather have that option than not have it, but as I say I've never had the slightest problem with GFWL.

Maybe my viewpoint would be different if it were causing me issues.

One upon a time I was not able to get this thing to run on my PC so I wasted 40 Euros on Dawn of War2

Anything GFWL does Steam already does better. For me it's just another account to log into, which is a little annoying.
