So when it comes to all of my fellow Star Wars fans it seems like there is a very mixed opnion over episode 6 Return of the Jedi. Some of them love it, and others loathe it. So Escapist what do you think?

I love all 3 of the original trilogy. All of them are fantastic movies.

I love it. It might be my favourite Star Wars movie, if only because the battle of Endor (the space battle, not the retarded Ewok part) is fantastic.

Of course. It has Admiral Ackbar.

I'm gonna go ahead and say it, I love the Ewoks. The only thing that bugs me about the movie is the uneventful death of Boba Fett. It just comes and goes and he's dead and digested. Well, until someone wrote him out of that in one of the Expanded Universe novels. But I tend to think of the movies and books as not really the same stories, so Movie Boba is dead and book Boba lives.

The unfinished Death Star also looks freaking badass. I used to be upset about when they show Darth Vader's face. I thought, "What the hell? He's just a pruny old man with a pitiful voice". Now I see that scene and it shows his vulnerability under the aura of his armor.

I actually love all the Star Wars movies. I'm not one to let little things like Jar Jar ruin everything for me. I love the originals more, but the prequels are still good.

Uh shit, well that's the last one right? Hmm, I'm sure I didn't mind it. I'm just not that big of a Star Wars guy.

It's not my favorite, and for a while I didn't like it at all, but after watching it again recently I realized it's not as bad as I remembered and that it's actually quite exciting at the end with The Battle of Endor, the attack on the Death Star, and Luke's battle with Darth Vader and the Emperor all going on at once.

Yes. I still maintain it has the best-executed lightsaber duel in the entire franchise. Force-assisted freerunning is not a martial art.

When I was growing up, it was my favorite one. Whenever we went on a long car ride, I would bring it with me in hopes of watching it either on the way (we had a VCR player in our car) or actually at the place we were going to. I watched it so much that the hard paper cover ripped around the edges from me taking it out and putting it back in so much. I don't watch it as much nowadays, but it still remains my favorite.

Besides, who doesn't love Ackbar?

I can see the parts people call cheesy but overall still a very good film. I look at it the same as episode 1. Decent set up, good fights, likable characters and "family friendly" aliens. The Gungans and Ewoks could have worked...

The only one I really dont like is episode 3, Revenge of the Sith and even that had Mr.McGreger.

I found the Ewoks quite forgivable. They certainly were out of place with the rest of the series, but it wasn't as mind-numbingly bad as it could have been (like the whole prequel trilogy). Taking into account how the Timothy Zahn books said that the emperor was using the Force to improve the skills of his troops, I can certainly buy the Ewoks' victory on Endor. After all, it's not like none of them died. They kept it realistic enough. I don't remember seeing any gungans die though.

EDIT: I didn't make it that clear for those who have not read those books. The empire's forces pretty much crumble the moment then emperor dies. I can imagine that if the emperor was controlling his troops, that they would be confused once they lost his influence.

It's the weakest of the original trilogy (mostly just due to the ewoks), but still a great movie and far better than any of the prequels.

Its okay... not the best of the originals, but still good...

What would have made Return better would have been having a different super weapon, like the Eclipse or something...
