Well it was my favourite one when I was a kid (I actually liked it more than the Phantom Menace, even though I was only five), so it holds some nostalgic value for me.
That said, all that stuff with the ewoks?
Hmmm.

Worst of the original trilogy.

Really my only problem with it was the damn ewoks, but it was definitely better than any of the prequels.
This. Would it have killed them to invent a species with the tech to could concievably beat the 501st.

It's the worst one, but I still like it. Cuz, the worst SW film is still a million times superior to most of the other visually uninteresting drivel some people call movies.

It's the worst because the entire Jabba's Palace sequence is nigh-unwatchable and irrelevant. These days I skip it as soon as 3PO is dragged away, as he's the only one saving the Tatooine-parts.
It's also the worst because the director was partly overwhelmed, partly too much under Lucas' influence. The characters aren't nearly as good as they were in TESB, most shots look dull and standard and the pacing has more problems than just Jabba's Palace.

If it wasn't for the Battle of Endor, especially the awesome saga-worthy Luke-Vader-Emperor-threeway, I would never watch it anymore. But Vader's (not Anakin's) last words are just orgasmically awesome: "...THEN PERHAPS SHEEEEE WILL!" *cue Dark Side Beckons*

oh yeah, John Williams does an amazing job too (minus Den of the Rancor...). The Imperial March has more interesting variations in this one than in TESB, the film that introduced it - there it was always militaristic; here... it's played on sad violins! Awesome.

Also, I don't mind the Ewoks. They don't beat the Empire, they provide a distraction until Chewie gets his paws on an AT-ST. HE beats the Empire.

I like the ewoks, but the movie as a whole? no. I thought it introduced a radically different luke from the two that preceded it with no explanation or even mention of how he got there seemingly immediately. I think that it is one of the greatest examples of horrible characterization in the modern era. Luke didn't grow to become a better jedi, or a stronger person. If you watch only the original prequel, luke is transformed from a whiney brat to a strong hero in the blink of an eye. And not only does this transformtion occur offscreen, but they don't even mention the fact that luke is suddenly acting completely different than before, much calmer and stronger. the whole thing leaves me feeling cheated, like all the fun character development was taken away from me at the last moment.

Yes, I liked it. It was not great but had a lot of good moments.

And ewoks are worse than Jar-Jar.

Yeah, I like it, I'd say it's the weakest in the original trilogy (Empire being the best in my opinion). But it's still a hell of a lot better than the prequels.

I liked it. It was suitably epic, it had a sort of three way finale feel to it with the ground battle with ewoks, space battle with crashing super star destroyers and a lightsaber duel between 2 epic dudes. Epic.

I liked that movie a lot. And I'm going to say it: I really liked the montage of the cityscapes celebrating over the defeat of the Empire. I thought it was very touching and it really moved me back then as much as it does today.
