I don't have much AGAINST Sony, but they have even less going for them. There are only 2 games that come to mind that I wish I could play elsewhere, Journey and maybe The Last of Us, but I just can't summon any liking for them like I can Nintendo, so I went with no.

Yes I like Sony, they gave me the PS2 and I loved that to death and I stil play all my PS2 games so there is that. I've never been much of a Halo fan but I do like the PS exclusives. I can kind of take or leave the PS3 though I mean it has some great games but over all it doesn't have much of a great 3rd party line up or exclusives. So Yes I do like Sony and I will probably buy a PS4 at some point in the future (after all those launch bugs get fixed).

They are my favorite console company. I don't have any loyalty to any company, but sony has always offered the best services so I keep coming back to them. I can't think of anything bad they did that went past annoyance (Like changing the PSN store) until today.

I went to back up my saves and they made copying saves to a USB device a plus thing.

I like them. The PS2 was a great little console. The PS3 is mostly good. I'm quite probably going to get the PS4 when it arrives. Only real con was the PSN debacle; that one was a doozy.

Their consoles have outlasted both of MS's devices for me, I like the PSP and Vita, but the company? Who cares more games of fun-quality please. :V

I like Sony because they make games I like to play. The 200 or so gigs of PS+ games I have on my PS3 Is awfully nice as well.

I don't really have any strong feelings but I guess, yeah, I like Sony. Gave me the PS X, 2, 3 and P. All pretty sweet pieces of hardware, and the dualshock is still my favourite controller. However I have no loyalty and won't buy a PS4 if it turns out to be crap and/or too expensive. I also won't buy a Vita unless I see it cheap. Sadly I have no money at the moment.

PS+ and first-party exclusives. No issue as far as I'm concerned. Care about games and the customers.

Yes I like Sony. But not as much as I used to. They did a good job with the PS2 and a GREAT job with the original Playstation. The PSP and PS3 on the other hand... Bit of a misstep in both cases. Neither one was awful; no Virtual Boys here, but they seem to have forgotten what made the original PSX so great, a lesson that I hope they re-learn with the PS4. Keep it simple. Make a piece of hardware that is easy for developers to create content for, and wring as much processing power as you can out of the components you put into it, for the lowest price you can. Really, ease of development seems to be the most important thing for a system's success. I think they got so caught up in the Arms Race with Microsoft this generation that they lost sight of that.

The free online access, the exclusives that caper to my particular tastes, aside from little security cock ups (which I reaped benefits from despite not having my credit card info on there) there's not much I can say against them. They make/publish the games I like, and that's all a company has to do.

What is with people and polls with no neutral response lately? Its only right to have one. Not to be used as an escape route to avoid controversy, but to actually gauge how many people don't care. If you don't have a neutral response, you only get replies from people that have feelings one way or another and the neutrals just leave it be. Its just not a good data collection practice.

OT: Yeah. I prefer their business practices to both Nintendo and Microsoft even though they lack on the development side of things. They also make a damn fine console in my opinion. They are nice and open to 3rd party developers (at least for the most part) and have some of the better exclusives. Also, even though I do not own a PS3, I hear only good things about playstation plus and when compared to the services of Microsoft and Nintendo, it really blows the competition away.

As an electronics company, they're losing severely to Samsung.

As a gaming company, I like the culture okay. Not quite as much as Nintendo. Tries a bit too hard to be 'hip' and 'now'. But the culture reflects what I enjoy in gaming better than, for instance, the PC gaming culture world.

I've noticed that here on the Escapist, there seems to be a lot of PC gaming enthusiasts. While over on NeoGAF, for instance, Sony fans are far more dominant. People go crazy with Kaz Hirai gifs and the like.

Well yes. Playstation Plus has been a fantastic buy for me. And I've never had a problem with a Sony Console in all the years I had them. (also never had a problem when I used to have a Sony Erikson Phone and Walkman.)

PLUS they just gave me Skyfall to watch for free...just for being a customer, that's a win.

I don't like their handling of Vita...but then i just didn't buy one. Waaay overpriced.

I have been a fan of sony since PS1 days. The consoles are quite well designed, the exclusives keep me coming back (more of a PS3 thing) and the PS2 was, imo, the greatest console to grace the planet...period.

That being said, I don't really care what the console is. The games are my focus when I am looking at whats new. Regardless if its NES or Xbox 1080/PS5 if the games are not good, its going to be less likely to get purchased

PS1 was my first console, followed by a PS2 and then eventually a PS3, then to an xbox due to wanting to play with my friends.

But....Hell no. I used to like Sony. Then they banned my SOE account while agreeing that I had not violated the CoC, the ToS or been cheating. Why did they do this? Because they scanned my PC (Without my permission, and without an update informing me of this new policy and asking my permission to do so) and found VMwares. Which I use for work, and to substitute the lack of an actual physical optical drive in my laptop. (I use virtual networks and imaginary drives)

Chased it up extensively and they refused to change their stance. Thus losing a long time customer, since I can no longer be confident in purchasing Sony products, as they have now set a precedent (at least to me personally) of banning without valid cause.

Oh and my Gen1 PS3 got a yellow overheated death light which they refused to deal with. Meaning my 360 actually had a longer lifespan than my PS3 (and my 360 was fixed at no cost to me). Derp.

No.
Based on my experience with them in games such as DC Online and Planetside 2.

Yes. Even though I played a lot of games on the PS1, the PS2 was the first console I ever owned and I used to play it all the time.

I've also been very happy with my PS3. No real complaints there.

I'm curious about the PS4. I just hope that the social features will be optional and not something I will be forced to use.

They were too complacent at the beginning of this gen and made a lot of mistakes. They have more than rectified that. Then there's the security breach the other year, which iirc they gave those affected id theft protection/insurance amongst other things.
So yeah they seem to handle even bad situations pretty well by taking the blame and attempting to solve the issue.

I'd be a hell of a lot more positive about them if their security wasn't such crap and they protected their customers better. As it stands I'm just slightly more positive about them than I am Nintendo, but I'm still a hell of a lot more positive about Sony than I am Microsoft's Xbox division.
I'm pretty sure that the breach was a wake up and sony would have sorted that out now, especially since they received a rather hefty fine in the u.k for the breach. As for protecting their customers they did give everyone affected id theft insurance.
