My school uniform was what could be referred to as a suit. Blazer, shirt, tie, trousers. Bullcrap. The blazers were shite and the trousers were horrible.

I'm now in sixth form of that same school and I wear a PROPER blazer (worth £90), proper suit trousers, and a proper shirt. And I feel the shizz.
I'm now losing weight so I can get myself a waistcoat and feel mega-happy.
A three piece suit. You, sir, have style and taste. I being forced to suit up, but when I get to choose whether or not I always do.

nothing suits me like a suit. I feel so confident in them, and they are pretty comfy if of Ok quality (i like the feeling more than jeans and a t shirt) but the cost stops me from wearing one every day. Otherwise, I would

I'd wear jeans to a funeral, if I were the type of person that even believed in funerals. I absolutely despise dressing up, I feel like an incredible fake douchenozzle anytime I'm even wearing khakis, because that's just not me.

I hate suits... They're so uncomfortable. I prefer my worn-in jeans, a t-shirt, and a zip-up hoodie.

I would rather be 100% comfortable than look good.
That's like saying you hate cars because they're so red. Suits aren't uncomfortable, you've just tried ones that don't fit you. A properly tailored suit is like a second skin.

And I've been wearing a three piece suit for four months whilst being Office Manager of an H&R Block. I can tell you, little else makes you feel like more of a man, provided you get your whole presentation 'right'.

The closest thing to a suit in my wardrobe is a combination of black jeans and a blazer.
I don't have ties, bowties and all the "sharp dressed man" palifenaria like cuff links, pins and all the other junk.
Give me sturdy jeans, a tshirt and some decent shoes and i'll be fine.
Paraphernalia, although 'accoutrements' would be the more appropriate word.

Yes. Suits are bitchin' stylish.

It was pretty much all I wore in SR2, as well.

And yes, I did bring a suit to uni with me.

Love it.

I'm usually overdressed for most occasions. Even the average day--I find myself wearing clothing I picked out in the store for "Nice clothes I'll only wear when they're warranted".

Also, being overdressed most of the time means I'm able to wear uncomfortable clothing most of the time. Clothing that soon becomes comfortable because--well, it's something you just get used to. Like armor. The Athenians trained in over 70 lbs of hoplite gear and could still manage to march fifteen or twenty miles a day. I suppose the same applies here. It becomes a second skin, I guess.

You are what you choose to be.

If you choose to be an "edgy rebel" who plays by his own rules and refuses to accept what is tried, tested and proven to be more successful for you in the long run, go ahead.

The Greeks and Romans wore togas for a reason.

We wear suits for a reason.

I wear a fairly informal version of a suit most of the time. It's mostly just a well tailored black blazer, a shirt, and if I'm at a raid, a tie. It's kind of weird for someone like me to wear a suit though, but oh well. They make me feel special and influential.

And I'm a guy who chooses not to wear clothes that attempt to point out that I think I'm better than everyone else. An everyman, if you will. To each his own. I will dress up on job interviews and the like; I don't take it so far as to shoot myself in the foot.

Why thank you. Totally jealous you get to live in Edinburgh, btw. Fringe Festival at your doorstep (though I'll bet, as a local, you get fed up with it or something)

Also, if you think it's snazzy on ME you should see my friend

He has curly, long black hair (at the time of the photo). We got him to wear it, tilt his head downwards a fraction and, lo and behold, he was Slash
Sorry about the late reply, popped off to play a few rounds of TF2 (and finally got that damn Saxton Hale mask).

I have never been to a Fringe event or even Edinburgh Castle, but I've no idea why. I guess it's one of those things you mean to do, but keep putting off because it will be there later. I like some of the street performers that hang around during the Fringe, but mostly I just get a little annoyed with all the extra people.

Despite liking your hat and frequenting Steampunk forums, I don't actually like wearing hats or that style of dress on myself. It's interesting and I've spent a lot of time reading into it but my interest really dies when it comes to getting a suit of my own. I'd buy a pocketwatch though, clockwork is godly.

Also, please tell me that you had some sunglasses at the time that you took the picture of your friend with the hat? That would add to the already awesome image in my head.

Few things can help somebody feel Alpha Male like wearing a sit. We've been taught from a young age that person in a suit equals intelligence, prosperity, and respect.

Or you work for the mob. One or the other.

True story: a friend and I used to "meet" at a local watering hole. We would both be dressed nicely in suits and be carrying briefcases. One would arrive first, then the other would join up about ten minutes later. We would sit, chat a bit while having a glass of wine, make a show of swapping briefcases and a large manila envelope, then leave. Got to be that people were watching us and rumor got around. Long story short, the cases were full of newspaper, but it was worth a laugh. Even the cops had a sense of humor, thankfully.

Yeah, I love to suit up.
That is epic. What made you come up with that idea?
Back in my younger day, we used to do a lot of LARP, typically Vampire the Masquerade. (Live Action Role Play) And we found that people would watch us the most when suited up. Just something about it all seemed to attract attention. We had practice playing at other personas, so it really just came as second nature.

One day, we got bored, and it just came to me. Then we made it a weekly thing, meeting ever Friday afternoon. it just kind of took on a life of it's own for the next few months.

And it was a hoot trying to explain to the interrogators that we were making stuff up. We made up people with outlandish names, like Franky Thumbs, Jimmy the Fish, and Larry Screws. Seems we had attracted the attention of the police, and they were watching us at our "meetings" trying to figure out who we worked for.

Thankfully, it was my one and only brush with RICO.

You all are warming my heart with your suit-love. In case you had doubts let me confirm - men look damn good (i.e. hot) in a well-made suit that fits them perfectly. Besides looking physically beautiful, a suit makes you look so .... capable. Go forth gents, suit up!

(I also wear suits, especially for job interviews and I know well the feeling of power they give one)
