Edit: inb4 people start complaining about how I messed up the poll question. I tried to fix it but as usual editing a poll once the topic is created doesn't work. (end edit)
Recently I've been playing Dungeon Defenders - the free Games with Gold game for the latter half of March - with some friends and at first I wasn't really enjoying it. I picked the Huntress as my first character and it just didn't seem like I was doing much at all. Her traps certainly helped, but I'm guessing I was probably playing her wrong because she was just too tedious for my tastes...having to constantly run around and "reload" your traps before they spend off all their charges.
Then I created a Mage and...well...yeah, he's obscenely overpowered. Every game I play now I rank as the MVP. His basic turret is ridiculous, his fire turret is ridiculous, his lightning turret is just obscene, and his deadly-strike turret just isn't even fair (shoots through walls, has ridiculous range, and deals 3.4K damage per hit). So suddenly I'm having a lot of fun with the game!
So that prompted my making of this topic. I wanted to see how many Escapists out there enjoy playing as a class that is obviously overpowered. Like the Demon Hunter in Diablo III. Just pull out the Bat Familiar with the Hatred-regen rune, Shadow Arts with hatred-regen rune, Archery for a passive, the passive that increases your damage against slowed enemies, and just use Rapid Fire with the slow-rune. You basicaly become an infinite ammo laser-turret that mows down everything within sight. Granted, I've only made it up to Nightmare with her, but so far I've had 0 problems soloing everything.
Or another fun class was the "screw it" class I made for Modern Warfare II: assault rifle with a noob-tube, javelin missle launcher, scavenger perk, and danger-close perk. Yeah, that class pissed off a lot of people in MW2...but screw it!
Obviously no one likes going up against an obviously over-powered class, but this topic is more specifically about your personal use of over-powered classes. Do you enjoy using them? Do you solely look for an over-powered class in a game once you get it? Do you shy away from a class once it becomes clear that it's blatantly over-powered? Like I rarely use my Demon Hunter in D3 anymore because she sucks the challenge out of the game. I certainly don't use her if I'm playing with my friends because then it just becomes boring for everyone.
