So Ive been kinda curious about this. How do you all live? Alone or with roommates/family?

Personally I live with family. I cant afford to live alone.

Also, if you live with roommates/family, are you happy with that? I mean, if you could, would you want to live alone, or live with other people for your entire life?

Alone. My parents live in Paris now (work related) and my sister studies in Perth, so I've been living alone since I was 17.

I see. And do you enjoy living alone? Personally Ive been thinking to rent an apartment, but I could not decide whether to rent one with roommates or live alone. With roommates its cheaper than living alone, but it also means less privacy.

I own the appartment I live in (well, the bank owns most of it...), but I rent out a room to a friend of mine.

A few years ago I decided to stop renting out the room, after my last roommate left. But this friend had been counting on moving in as was terriblt dissapointed. So we made a deal, he could move in, find a job and after that find a place for himself. He still hasn't been able to find a job...

[sub][sub]He's one of my best friends though, so I don't mind really[/sub][/sub]

Two roommates atm. I lived alone for four months, and I never plan to again. It's too lonely for me I guess, wasn't healthy. I don't really mind or care about the lack of privacy (actually, I've shared beds with platonic friends for a couple years). I'm pretty good at finding people I get along with though... I've lived with like 15-20 different people over the past few years (many were subletters) and never had anyone I didn't like.

I actually just moved in with my boyfriend.
It's a short term lease so we're not shacking up together or anything but it's nice.
I just got breakfast in bed.

Ever since I left home at 18, I have lived alone.
I dont think I ever will want to live with another person.
I just wont be able to stand being around other people for periods longer than half a day.

With my parents. It is very difficult to our days to have your own personal place to live alone.
But honestly, I don't want for now to leave my parents house yet.

I live in student accommodation- I have four flatmates (used to be five, but one left after the first semester). It's pretty good, it's nice living with friends. It was a bit awkward for a while at first because I'm not great with meeting new people, but this semester has been a lot easier for me. I used to (and when not at uni, still do) live with my parents, which was great (I miss clothes being washed regularly. And my diet has jumped of a bridge), but not quite as much fun.

I live with one other person. Technically, he's a flatmate, though (I always take "roommate" to mean "we share a room"). It's nice - I've lived with various flatmates for the past 5 years now. As long as you know the people and you get along, it's not an issue. I could also live alone - I don't particularly care one way or the other, aside from rent - I'd rather pay less.

I live alone during the week for college, but during holidays and some weekends I travel home to stay with the family .

I always used to use "flatmate" as well, but people (mostly Americans) never understood what I meant, so I started calling them roommates. But I agree with you, you share a room with a roommate, and an appartment with a flatmate.

Well, they should just learn to speak English, don't they? Bloody foreigners - they think once they've come here, they can just dictate all the rules.

:p

I have started living alone 5 months ago.
I truly enjoy it, its a good change from living with a family.
I currently have no pets, i used to have hamsters, but they live with my sister now. As for getting a cat or a dog, i do not think i am responsible enough to take care of them properly, and i dont want to be one of those owners that check up on thier animals "when i feel like it".

With family but I didn't exactly have a choice (since I was unemployed there is no way I can afford a flat and my current job wages is not enought to substain myself living in a flat). Otherwise I would of been living by myself or with a flatmate.

Alone with no pets. I've had a fairly small one bedroom apartment for the last 5 years. Sure it can get a bit lonely but I still quite like it. Being able to lounge about all day without bothering to put on pants is pretty fantastic.

Alone, with two cats and a spider, so I basically have roommates that don't like me. Overall I like it, I've had guests for extended periods of time and they get on my nerves quickly. I like the space, the quiet, being able to do my homework and personal projects in utter peace. I'd list "being able to lounge around with no pants." but NOBODY makes me put on pants.
