my friends and i were talking bout physical health and what women find attractive and i we came to a stand off whether abs are necessary to look good or sexy.
we're defining 'abs' as a 6pack whether sold or fading doesnt matter.
I say no, couple of my mates said yes, asked a girl and she said no, and so now im putting it to the escapist.

Imo, its just an enhancement. You can be attractive without out, but you can just have a bit extra aesthetically, and a lot more health wise etc...

Depends I guess, although what's attractive about a guy with a flabby gut?

Besides, it should be more about taking pride in yourself. If more "action" is a side effect then I'm sure that's something we can all live with, I know I could.

No. I have well defined abs, which isn't hard after several years in the Army and five years as a boxer, and most women don't find me attractive. It could be that I have the face that even my mother winces at.

No.
Don't get me wrong they do help, but for looking sexy, it's more about your over all appearance and how much of a "stinky bastard" you are (Dad's words, not mines)

I don't have abs and no woman I've ever been with has cared. I'm not exactly flabby either, mind you. I'm just kinda... average. Women on the whole aren't wildly concerned about the physical aspect, which is why Playgirl never sold anywhere near as well as Playboy. Sure, most girls will agree that a good bod is nice to have, but for most girls the body isn't the big make-or-break deal when it comes to men. When women have commented on things about my body that they like, it's usually been really quirky kind of stuff that you wouldn't expect, like "I like the way your ears are" etc.

in the current trends, it seems the unlikable, underfed skinny-jeans-a-things are the most sought-after in terms of teenyboppers

I believe the Most Intresting Man in the World sums up skinny jeans perfectly

Damn I love those adverts

idk... are huge boobs (on women, duh!) necessary to look good? WAIT DON'T ANSWER THAT! :C

My point is, it's really a matter of preference, and what works on one person may look downright bizarre on someone else. So yeah, basically it's nothing to stress about.

Cut abs are sort of like large breasts.
The majority does like them (why, I will never know), but they aren't entirely necessary.
They're a fun perk, not a requirement.

It depends but most of the time, yes.
I'm a heterosexual guy but I find guys with abs to be more physically attractive than guys without.

My girlfriend said she is actually turned off by big 6packs, which works just fine for me :)

Well, usually the abs are under a shirt, so first you have to be attractive in other ways.

Abs are more like cream or custard on a cake, nice but not necessary, overall icing can be parodied to the icing and face is probably the bulk of the cake, or it might be vice versa.

well they can help in sone situations... just having a dong the size of the CN tower would get you by any of that need in any situation as far as most women I have met are concerned... so yeah... as far as innitial attraction usually it's your face then the bulge in your pants... then your abs... as long as you don't have bulging gut... the other two combined would normally get you through... this is all heresay however... I have a face that depending on how i shave the hair on it goes from attractive to average to monstrous in the course of a year through random facial adornment changes... I almost always wear baggy pants... so nobody can tell in that regard... and i'm only a little overwieght and usually wear clothing that draws attention away from that fact and or hides it nearly completely... :p

and still have had a grand total of 0 relationships that exceeded 4 days of sporadic conversation in intensity... in other words the closest thing i have ever had to a "date" with anyone was a walk around town showing off the sights and having intellectual conversation at random intervals sparked by random things that happened or were witnessed...

so other than my more... observationally enhanced situations... IE watching my friends in their relationships... and either helping or hindering them dependant on whether they listened to advice tossed in or not at my own discression... the fact that i helped a few friends out of almost certain divorce over random situations involving dissagreements on various subjects and missunderstandings... yeah I'm more of a councilor than a dateable guy...

so no abs aren't needed... hell half the guys i know in successful relationships have a little bit of a beer gut on them... and their brides/girlfriends/fiances... are not only highly attractive women... but seem not to care/notice... and none of my pals are rich either if you were wondering... middle class people all of em...
