Not a 3D TV but I'm planning on getting a 3D monitor - using active glasses means they are a lot cheaper, only a few hundred rather than a few thousand (though they are obviously smaller). And apparently a lot of PC games can be run in 3D whereas there's not much TV/film content

[HEADING=1] WOOO!! Go 1-Sided poll! ¬.¬ [/HEADING]
One sided poll is one sided -_-

Hmm maybe.
I'm fine with my TV now, though if I ever get a bigger one I might consider it (provided that it isn't like $500 more).
Don't see why there is so much hate for 3D devices.....
Most computer monitors coming out have the capability to display 3D, same with most higher end graphics cards.

Sorry about the very one sided poll but that was not what I was trying to do I wanted to know how many people had 3D TVs.

While I don't happen to have a 3D television, I DO have Nvidia's 3D Vision kit, which I actually enjoy quite a bit. I've spent hours in Just Cause 2 simply floating with a parachute, gawking at the environment in 3D. I have yet to purchase a 3D movie for my setup, but I intend to over the summer, when I build up some spending cash yet again.

Nah,i recently bought a new HDTV and i didn't think about the 3D feature at all. Right now its nothing more then a gimmick, if they ever make it so that you could lean to the side and see whats behind a corner in the movie that would be interesting, but right now, meh.

No mainly cause I don't like 3D in general as they detract from the details on screen in my opinion and second there is only a handful of channels that make use of the 3D. And of those channels the only ones I would watch would be the sport channels, and take it from me Wayne Rooney is ugly enough in HD, I don't need his mug jumping out the screen in my face while a try to watch the match.

What about their much better than people think? You need to finish that sentence. I want to know what you had to say about their much better than people think.

Sardonic spelling asshole commentary aside (but seriously, knowing how words work is fucking important)...

I have to believe that you're saying that to justify all the money you don't have anymore, like you're trying to convince yourself of the spectacle.]
Ugh...you could just as easily state that people are crapping on it simply because they haven't a prayer of affording it. It doesn't make it true, but it's every bit as substantial a claim.(though I suspect it is true for alot of the younger members).

OT: I have a Samsung 50" 3DTV. Not only is the 3D alot of fun, but it's also by far the best television I've ever owned. Superb panel.

My friends may come over skeptical, but they don't leave that way...

Nope, and I never will. 3D cannot add anything useful to the experience of watching movies and TV or playing games. It just makes things look worse (oh look, everything is a paper cut-out now and it looks like it has the production value of a kindergarten play) and causes eye strain and headaches. None for me, thanks.

I even fixed my 3DS so I can just enjoy games without any battery draining gimmicky 3D accidentally being activated:

Yes, a piece of cardboard wedged into the slider's track. You didn't think I was going to void my warranty, did you?
Wait... you bought a 3DS and then took extra measure to make sure the 3D doesn't come on...... why?

OT: I have a 3D PC, but I have a beast machine that can do 3D justice (GTX 580. hells yeah), and I enjoy it... so eh.

Yep, but unfortunately there's not a whole lot I get to do with it because the range of games and movies in 3D is somewhat limited, I guess because there aren't a lot of people who own one?

It wasn't my idea to get one. It was my Dad's, so you'd have to ask his reasons why. The TV itself has great resolution in 2D, though, so it's as much an HD TV as it is a 3D TV.

Also, it doesn't seem to get that shitty darkening effect that happens in theatres, which is a huge plus. The 3D works better on TV than it does in the cinema, oddly enough.

I have no intention of getting a 3D tv. Just like movies in 3D, I just see this as a way to charge more then they could in the past.

To play games exclusive to the 3DS?

It's only normal that the 3D part of these games will soon become put to the side and lightly used in the future. Besides, Ocarina of Time is good in 2D.

Nope. Modern 3D is just extra blurry lines to me, thanks to eye damage and astigmatism. I won't be interested in 3D displays until we have a good, cheap analog for Star Wars holoprojectors.

Yeah, but this will be much further down the road, and the 3DS will drop in price.... I can kinda understand getting it for Ocarina of Time, but still... thats a pricey piece of hardware for one game.
