I used to be really big about MMOs several years ago, but then I decided to ditch them since they mostly felt like grinding 24/7. I guess the main thing is that I never really had any friends to play MMOs regularly with. foreveralone, etc.

Anyways, I haven't touched any MMOs for years now, not even WoW. Just wondering if there's other people who never play MMOs.

On the other hand, FireFall looks awesome; I'll definitely give that game a shot.

Nope. I just can't stand the grinding in MMO games. No matter how shiny and glamorous it is on the outside, or how exciting that Blade of whatever looks, in the end I still find nothing to do but grind for the next impossibly far away level, to be able to use the next amazingly shiny weapon, which will then be discarded in the next 10 levels for a brand new shiny weapon. It's a little bit more bearable if you're playing with friends I suppose, but everything has to lose its luster at some point. If I'm playing an MMO, then there must be literally no other game that I want to play. That being said, I actually survived a long time playing Runescape. The grind aspect of that took a few years (2) to register on me.

not really. Though I....wtf is wrong with you capthca, USE ENGLISH!...anyway, though I have started one called Dragons Nest. it's by the guys that made vindictus. Cannot wait for the pvp server to come to NA. right now I'm regualted to PvE which is fun, especially when all my friends are playing but I always felt the ultimate goal of an MMO with PVP was to do the ultimate quest to get teh best gear or whatver in order to be the best you can be in PVP.

I used to...9Dragons, but the grinding got to me since all my friends quit playing it. I also used to play Tabula Rasa but that's shut down. I'd really like to find a Free 2 Play MMO like it. >_>

*looks at avatar* ...nope, not at all.

Guild Wars has been good to me, and Guild Wars 2 is incredible.

I tried to play WOW once. Wasnt really into it, but my gf at the time was. She complained we didnt do enough together, so I got an account and started playing. After a while, I started to get really into it. That was around the same time she stopped getting into it. Soon after I stopped. I havent played her or WOW since.

Also giving FireFall a shot, might be interesting. I generally like to try free MMOs, but I usually don´t get very far. Lack of friends to play with might be a factor, although I do play a bunch of games with friends pretty regularly, just not MMOs.

I played WoW from just before MC in vanilla until just after Cataclysm with a few breaks of 4-5 months a few times when I'd actually get some damn work done.

Really, I just found that it got less and less social over time, and to me that was the entire point of the game.

I may or may not have a few friends who are picking up the new star wars mmo, so I might try that out for a few months, but I'm not sure. Certainly not preordering. I like to try things before I commit to spending £40 on them.

I was playing Aion earlier this summer but I really didnt have the money to spare to renew it for another month. But that was only a fling, I'm really saving myself for Guild Wars 2.

No, I find MMO's to be boring. The gameplay is grind based, the game world never changes because of your own actions, it's not personal and you have to put up with that feeling of being a sad loser.

I played Final Fantasy XI for about 7 straight years, no breaks.

Recently I've put my account on hold. I might go back if they ever un-overpower my favourite class. It's nice having a powerful character but I'm a casual player so literally everyone and their grandmother is better at my own class than me. >_>;

I usually play them for one or two months at a time then get bored with them. I did stick with SWG for about a year, and came back for like a month a few years later. Lord of the Rings Online I played for about 2 months, until it went free-to-play, then I got bored of it. RIFT was really good but it only held my interest for the beta and I spent most of June playing it. MMO's just don't really pull me in anymore.

Yup. Been playing them pretty consistently for the last 7-8 years or so. I'm playing Global Agenda right now. Before that, I played Rift for about a month after launch (I played from beta 5 up as well), and EQ2 for a year before that. I've got Tera and GW2 on the horizon as well. MMO is sort of my pet genre.

Aion primarily right now until Guild Wars 2, and Global Agenda because it is free to play.

TOR might be a consistent player in the future if it ends up being worth my trouble. I've already pre-ordered the standard edition, but still..
