This whole thing with the ME3 demo has me curious. I have not looked at, watched, or even considered downloading the ME3 demo. I just don't play demos. I side with Yahtzee on this one. Okay I once downloaded the crysis demo, but that was just to make sure it would run on my PC at the time before I shelled out for it. But other than that, I have never played a demo, nor do I plan to.

I love demos, especially if it's something interesting that pops up on PSN (Like Fat Princess, played a demo and fell in love almost instantly) But, that's just me, I'm too easily excited so I need something to curb my hunger.

Yes.

Depending on how I regard the game, it's either a chance to take a pre-purchase sample or a quick fix to tide me over until the damn thing comes out.

Whenever possible, I'll play a demo before putting any money down for a game. No matter how promising their pre-rendered trailers (or even gameplay footage) is, or how many positive reviews are around, I could still hate it. I might as well try to figure that out before spending any money.

I haven't played the ME3 demo yet though. It's the Origin issue. If I choose to buy the game though, I'll play the demo first unless everyone says the full game is completely different.

Usually no. I play demos if I get a reward for doing so, such as with the cross-promotion between Kingdoms of Amalur and Mass Effect 3. Otherwise, no. I know my computer can handle anything I throw at it.

What demos?

Seriously, though, yes, of course, but only if it's a game I'm already at least partially interested in buying (so no ME3 demo for me). And doesn't require all sorts of shitware to be installed on my computer (so no ME3 demo for me).

I play demos depending on the age of my PC relative to the game as a systems test rater then to convince me to buy the game. There have also been occasions where reviews have varied wildley and so checked out a demo to see what I think.

I download demo's for games I don't know much about or want to try out to sway me either way, but games I'm already pretty set on I seem to ignore.

For example, the Rayman Origins demo was up for weeks before I downloaded it and it just cemented the fact that I was going to buy it, whereas Kingdoms of Amular I downloaded as a one off as I knew next to nothing about the game and I actually thoroughly enjoyed it.

Usually yes, unless it's a game I know I'm going to be getting. Although even then sometimes I still play the demo for the game if there's an element I want to try out - like ME3's multiplayer.

I nearly always play demos. If I see a demo for a game that I have never heard of then I will probably download it if it looks interesting. I have decided to buy games that I had never heard of just because I liked the demo.

Usually no.

As my computer ages, I begin to rely on demo's more and more to ensure I can run the game smoothly on PC. Aside from that I'd rather not spoil the game experience via the demo.

Typically you'd play the demo to see if you like a game when you're uncertain of it. I avoid demo's for games I'm not set on buying. The idea being that I already spend enough on video games...I don't need a demo leading me to extra purchases.

I download demos for games I've never even heard of just to try out.

They're free slices of game, sometimes for things quite interesting I'd never hear about or take notice of otherwise. Why wouldn't I download them?

I usually don't but I have lately, I'm pretty bored of all my games lately and I'm waiting for Killzone 3 to go FTP though.

I play demos to help me decide whether or not I want the game, so that I don't have to base my decision solely on reviews.

But if it's a game I already know I'm going to buy, I usually don't bother.

If its a game I have at least a modicum of interest in then sure Ill play the demo if its free theres no problem and occasionally it has helped me avoid a game that I am pretty sure I would have regretted buying or conversely opened my eyes to a brilliant game I would have usually glossed over.

I only do not play a demo if I know I will get the game or I know I won't or I don't have access to it. I need to base my opinion on what I have seen rather than just on reviewers as a lot of the time my opinion is a far cry from what the reviewers think.

Occasionally.

If it's for a game I've been looking forward to, by all means I will play the demo. I want to see what it's going to be like.

If a demo comes out for a game I know next to nothing about, I refrain from playing it. I don't realy know why. If I hear good things about it I might actually try it.

Oh, and some demo's are pure evil. I played the Brutal Legend demo, and thought it was pertty kickass for what it was. the actual game was nothing like it and was horribad.
