As the general issue seems to be in the news a lot at the moment, I would just like to see whom out of us are lucky enough to play video games with the fairer sex.

I unfortunately do not. Sure, I've played Raving Rabbids at a party with girls or a bit of guitar hero, but I don't think I've ever had a female friend who plays video games with me on a regular basis.

How about you rabble?

(Ladies feel free to comment any way you wish.)

Nope, largely because I'm an unsociable tosser like Yahtzee and hardly ever play multiplayer games. And I'm even worse with women so it's highly unlikely to happen.

My best friend is a girl, and even though she isn't a hardcore gamer she does play a few games. We play on Xbox live quite regularly. Playing a lot of RDR at the moment.

No, but I have, and in my experience, it's followed that idea that combining two things you love really can just make both worse.

For some reason a lot of people think finding a girl who's into games is the Holy Grail of Life.

Used to play L4D with a couple of women, among others.

That was good fun.

Not entirely serious, maybe.

Yes. My sister-in-law plays a few PC games (primarily MMO's and blizzard stuff.) And just recently, another female friend of mine got into Diablo 3, and now also plays with us.

Not too long ago, one of my good co-op buddies got his girlfriend into playing coop stuff with us.
It's amusing because at first, she was generally quiet and didn't banter much with us. But as time passed, she has now become abusive, insulting, mean, and trolls us frequently ingame. Y'know, like me and my coop buddies have done to each other the entire time. Good times!

I'm not really sure what counts that as 'lucky', as I've ran into tons of female players online throughout the years.

Yes and everyone I play with is more perverted, has a fouler mouth and a more twisted sense of humor than I have.

How do you go from discussing League of Legends gameplay to discussing the probable incestuous relationship between Garen and Lux?

Yep, my girlfriend and I play games. For example we've been playing a lot of DayZ with another couple and a few friends (some online some real). Many of my ex girlfriends were also gamers, its actually something I look for in a girlfriend since Ive found dating non-gamers tedious at best. That may sound strange but all relationships are built on common interests, if there isnt one then they dont tend to last.

Anyway, most of the female gamers I know are into MMOs, RPGs, or puzzle games. I dont know if thats the norm but if it is I can see why most guys who are into Modern military shooters or other "guy games" might not see many female gamers.

Haha, I went to find a comic regarding this on google images and noticed the first result after "gamer" is "gamer girl" and a ton of sexy pictures come up of girls in their underwear, holding controllers. What is this obsession with guys finding girls who play games?
Please bear in mind that I started this thread because I don't have any girl mates to play with and I wanted to see what the proportion with other gamers was.

I have no deep-seeded need to have a gamer girlfriend, I just found it interesting that girls and games are in the news loads at the moment and I don't know any.

I think it's pretty normal for people to want to find a partner who shares or is at least kindly disposed towards their primary hobby. While you don't need to share all your interests with a romantic partner, if that interest consumes as much time and enthusiasm as gaming tends to, it really does make life a hell of a lot easier.

I have this nefarious desire to stick a "I play games with girls...If you know what I mean" here, but since I hate that meme with a passion that consumes all creation, I shan't do that. No really, that meme is worse than even the funky applications of Rule 34.

Right now that that's out of my system, yes there are some games I have at some point played with a girl. Though, looking at my age, I suppose I should say I play a game with a woman now and then, yes.

i play WAY more games than my wife, and i think i have turned her off of video games, but we play dr. mario together often, and occasionally a co-op side-scroller like DKCR or any of the 2D super marios.

I'm a girl so ... yeah.
But me and the boyfriend play quite a lot together.
Mostly TF2 recently, because we're both bored of WoW, but we've levelled to 85 together several times, and we went to raids together (not all the time, I like raiding way more than he does).
There were plenty of other girls in my old WoW guild, it was run by a woman too.

My boyfriend is always getting that from other gamers when they find out I play. It's always like `Omg how did you manage that?` or `Lucky git!`. Playing games with him is fun, but its not a massive deal and its a bit weird when its made out to be.
EDIT: Adding stuff cause I posted before it was ready. Whoops.

Local? I'd say about 50/50. Online? Of course, anyone who plays online multiplayer does. Why is this even a question?

I don't have any female friends to play games with, so I guess not.
Actually I don't have any friends at all.

I stopped talking to my female gamer friend when we stopped having classes together, so no. Would I? Sure, as long as there's no reason not to. Like she's a *****, or she doesn't want to.

Plus I play like 80% single player.
