So the question is do you play handhelds outside of your home. I'm not including iPods as a handheld either. Personally I don't play my DSi outside of my house.

Examples would be on a bus and etc.

EDIT: I'm curious to how many play handhelds in public is all.

Yes. I play my DS everywhere. Never leave home without it, really. I've got a doctor's appointment in an hour, and it's coming with me there, too.

Not my PSP, though. Screen is too vulnerable in a pocket. And generally the PSP is just fucking fragile.

I play them both at home. Extensively.

When Black/White came out, I played for at least 13 hours that day.

I play my GBA SP and DS on the bus pretty much every week day, unless I'm behind on readings. I've got 40 minutes to kill, so why not?

Apart from that though, I'm usually only outside because I'm doing something, which means I don't play it. If I'm waiting for my friends for example, I'll just slip on the iPod.

So... yes?

I play my DS on the bus or the train all the time.

That's what they're good for. I do play at home too, though.

I constantly play my iPhone in public. (you said no iPods not Phones)

I never get odd looks either, probably because people think I'm texting.

I often play my DS or PSP on the train or in waiting rooms. That's one of the main reasons I bought them.

PSP in the waiting room guy thats me.
Granted more often then not I'll have a book instead but that has to do with books don't run out of batteries.

I do, constantly. I'm going to have about 2 hours to kill at the bowling alley after class today and my PSP is coming with me.

Yeah I play my DS(now 3DS) and PSP on the train. In fact, I even play untranslated JRPGs in public. I have had the occasional idiot trying to bring attention to that fact but usually people just let me go about my business. As long as I have the headphones in and am not annoying anyone, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.
I'm an avid PC and handheld gamer and take every chance I have to play my games. I actually had one guy challenge me to a Pokemon battle on the train once. I whooped his sorry ass, yeah, but he was a good sport about it.

You could, you know, go bowling while you're there. I think bowling's an awesome sport, if you can call it a sport.

I'm using mine right now, because in my work place you can use your own shit for whatever you want. But not the internet on the work computer (Which I'm doing right now anyway). But yeah, what I don't like is playing in front of cute girls. I'ts kind of awkward. I rather talk to them.

EDIT: I'm playing on my brother's PSP with my (own) Tactics Ogre.

I play my PSP in public all of the time. And about it being fragile - the only time anything broke was when my friend was playing and raged on some game and broke the screen. >.<

No and not only because I doesn't have one, I just find handhelds pointless as I prefer reading books at all times where a handheld would be useful.

I play on my phone when i'm on the bus or something, but that's it, i still have an original DS so it looks like i'm playing two breeze blocks stuck together, plus generally when I'm out I have better things to do, otherwise I would be at home.

I love bowling which is why I'm taking the class. :p
I'm already going to be bowling 7 games. Anything after that costs money. 7 is enough and I can be a cheap bastard.

Free bowling? Sign me up! Honestly, after 7 rounds I'd be over it too and I'd probably whip out one of my handhelds, I always have one on me, just in case of random boredom attacks.

How do you even have enough time to get into a game in public? The most I'm ever stagnant in public is a few minutes. Not near enough to get into a game.

You have to pay for the class but it counts as a Physical Education credit and is transferable. I jumped to sign up for it when I saw it in the catalog.
