How much does a PS3 with move cost? And more importantly, how the hell do I go about building a computer? I'm sure I've stated in this thread already how useless I am with computers. I would not know how to put a computer together, even if I found the money to buy all the parts. As for Left 4 Dead, was that in a steam sale? Ah well, I can still buy Left 4 dead 2 for £10 in Amazon if I want, which isn't much more than... whatever $5 translates to in £. Oh, on top of that, why would I want to hook up a PC to a TV when I use it to browse the internet and post on forums so much? (Besides, the whole "console+TV" argument is irrelevant to me as I have to connect my 360 to a computer monitor to play it, and it isn't a particularly big one).

Oh, and all my friends play on 360. Can't forget that.
Here, around 800 or so. And indeed. Steam sales are frequent and stunningly worth it. Buying physical copies of a game that's on steam is insane. First off, assembling a computer is surprisingly easy. If you're not sure how, theres basic step by step guides online that will take you about a few minutes. It's a simple process, really. Screwing in some things and hooking up a few cables, attaching a card or two and you're done. And all of that takes about 2 minutes for the absolute beginner. I did my first pc when I was 8 with no clue what I was doing and it worked perfectly. Pc on tv wise. It works exactly like a monitor when it's hooked up to a tv. I'm using a tv with a keyboard and mouse in front of it. If you have a wireless keyboard/mouse you could be on the other end of the room and still use it identically.

I personally prefer console gaming because i dont have to worry about detail vs framerate but mostly because i can be slouched on my couch (with a bag of maltesers) which (unless youve got a good gaming laptop and even then its a little bit claustrophobic)you cant do on a pc. I defiantly love pc gaming but my only pc games are pc exclusives like starcraft II and crysis and fps games ofcourse.
I can only imagine the search bar's words if it were capable of posting on the forum...

PC. I like to sit forward and be engaged by games, not be put to sleep by them. Since apparently seating preference is the only thing we are allowed to mention without being elitist.
Gee, your name gave me no indication at all as to which you were going to vote for. :p

Also, nah, saying "I prefer PCs because I like *insert certain aspects here* and think it's better for *insert certain genre here*." is not elitist. I think the elitist threshold is when you say "*insert certain genre here* is factually better on PC, no questions asked, anyone who thinks otherwise is obviously retarded, and all those who play on consoles are lesser beings than I."
Dude you sound like a major asshole at the moment he never said anything like your saying and to be frank, Adventure, RTS, and in the words of Yahtzze 'The lack or mouse controls will always cripple consule FPS..' found in his Turok review. So yes certan types of games are ment for PCs more. As you can tell my vote is PC. Also I would consider myself higher up than some of the dribuling ideots who play there so called hardcore Mulitplayer FPS's, shouting at eachother throw there headsets that the other player is such a noob. This dosent apply to everone I'm just stating my feeling for that.

I'll say why PC is better in a short list:
1:Better aim and use capubilitys.(Mouse)
2:New game are affordable to everone.
3:Life span past 2-3 years.
4:Best internet capubilitys.
5:Starcraft 2. Best game ever.(Don't arugue with this ponit it wount make a difference)
Thows are some resons why PC is better.
Whoa, major misunderstanding, I wasn't calling that guy an elitist, and I know he didn't say anything like I said was an elitist statement. Literally all I was doing was providing a quote an elitist might say.

1: Subjective, very much depends on the platform you were raised on. I prefer my controller for aiming in FPSs (though as I said before, if you're a console RTS, you don't belong here).
2: Hasn't the price of new games been increasing for PC recently? I recall some guy ranting about Medal of Honour costing the same amount on PC as it does on consoles a while back. But yeah, you're right mostly, PC games are cheaper (by about £10 unless you're talking about steam).
3: I've gotten through 2 PCs in about as many years (the first one broke, my second one is CRAP and I really want another one). My 360 has lasted me for that same amount of time without breaking, and on top of that it can do everything I want it to do.
4: Well, duh. You can hardly type this post on a console, or watch youtube videos, or anything like that. If you mean multiplayer, then I'll have to take your word for it due to lack of experience in PC multiplayer.
5: Subjective, but for the record, my personal best game ever (Homeworld) is also on PC. I still prefer my 360 overall.

I'm not going to type out my reasons for preferring 360 again. Look up my other posts.
I saying this throw my and my friends experences and thoughts:

1: True but I have several freinds who are big X-Box gamers and they tend to agree with me but I get your point.
2:Some it dependds on the game Starcraft 2 was $60 but in general they ushaly are unless there big titles.
3: What do you do with your computors, im 17 and my family got our first computor when I was 4 and it worked fine when we got a new one when I was 10. Know that one is starting go bad its been 7 years.
4: That was a point out the obviuos sarcastic comment.
5: That was the only, true my opion anwser.

I get what your saying but in the end I still prefur PC.

PC all the way. People who say its costs a lot don't know how to find good deals/build their pc's. (Or they really do optimize to the greatest extent they can..but then they should have the money for it)

I do like consoles though, after all some of the greatest rpg's are on consoles, but lately most of the games I've played have been eh compared to the olden days..

My main gripe that I always bring up with my friends is the whole controller vs mouse debate. All my friends are gamers from the late 360 era while I gamed heavily on pc and nes onward. I started earlier so I've seen more and experienced more gaming history. While I don't suffer on my K/D ratio with controllers, I still function and feel at home with a mouse and keyboard. I don't see how joysticks are worth anything unless its a platformer/fighting game(and people usually get sticks for fighters).

Console, because my PC is generally crap for new games. But, when it's an RTS or games like that, or when it's an MMO or games like Morrowind, then give me my PC.

I much prefer consoles. Unless it's an RTS, and if it can run on my laptop. And that's a big IF.

For me PC gaming is far too much trouble than its worth.

If I had a gaming computer, I'd be playing games on it with a 360 controller. But for now, I use my 360

I enjoy playing games on my laptop I get the advantage of being able to do all the stuff like a PC with the ability to lay on the lounge and play it as well the only disadvantage being that it runs with the heat of a thousand suns so it isn't very fun to have something like that on your lap.

I prefer the PC. Simply, it can do both. I don't have any consoles of my own (though I play on my friends' as if they were), but I do have a corded 360 game pad for my computer, and a good half of my games are played with it. PCs can literally be played both ways, so why would I choose consoles that can only be played the one way?

Wow. This thread is surprisingly not-on-fire. Yet. People arguing reasonably? Isn't that against our nature on the internet, where the human psyche is laid bare? Are you all unfeeling spambots?

I prefer PC for practical reasons: too much hassle maintaining both a console AND an 'internet box'. My rig isn't that expensive - dunno what people are talking about of PCs being overpriced. Hell, I still use my ten-year-old casing, and have only been upgrading bit by bit, when necessary. My Radeon is a couple of years old, but still runs all games reasonably well.

But on that matter I've a lot of respect for consoles: it's amazing how long the PS2 held up the competition with PCs - I still remember we were using Voodoo graphics cards when it was first out!

I prefer gaming on both my consoles and my PC. I really don't have a preference as to which one I like more. I have been gaming on my PC a bit more but that is mainly because I have been re-playing Dragon Age: Origins to get ready for the sequel.

PC Gaming, for the win.
Payed about £600 for a high end rig, have a ridiculously comfy office chair..... gaming on the PC just feels fantastic. Controls, graphics, much better. Yeah baby.

When I started gaming, it was either play on my console or go to the arcade... PC was cool for a while, but it's dying.
