Mostly console, the specs of my old gaming PC can't keep up, so it's pretty much relegated to more specific things such as RTS games and VNs, as well as a few Valve games.

Definitely console, for a number of reasons:

1. I hate sitting hunched over in front of my computer. Terrible way to game.
2. I hate keyboard/mouse gaming. Prefer a controller. Not interested in getting one for PC.
3. PC is too much trouble to keep updated. Not interested in having to manage all the requirements games have for PCs.

Basically it all revolves around the fact that console gaming is ideal; don't have to upgrade, can play on my TV from afar with a controller.

It seems strange to me that no one has figured out that if a keyboard and mouse isn't the most practical control system for a game, you can in fact connect a controller to your pc.

I was playing Bad Company on a really solid, $1000 custom-made PC with really high specs. It ran much prettier than on my Xbox 360 hooked up to my 480p TV, but it took over half an hour to patch when I wanted to play the game. I voted console, because playing on a PC is more fun once you start playing, but I don't like waiting for installation and long patches.

I prefer consoles, but only because my best computer is crap and I'm very limited by system requirements, a problem I don't have with consoles.

While I do enjoy playing on the PC I only prefer my console because my PC isn't too great. I usually have to run things on low settings and there's still a couple of games that get some lag.

Most of my PC library is RTS. C&C (complete series except for the latest two), Battle for Middle Earth, AoE (series), etc. I have yet to find a RTS that controls well on the console. Closest is Mushroom Wars, but that's a very simplistic RTS. Turn based is getting better on consoles (Valkyria Chronicles, Civ Rev), but I prefer to play the majority of strategy games on PC. For just about everything else, my PS3 is perfectly fine. I have an older PC, and it's nice not to have to worry about my graphics card or what drivers are installed. On FPS games, I especially prefer consoles becasue I like using an analog stick control scheme, but I still enjoy playing Rep. Commando on the PC. If I can't get it on my console, however, I'll go back to PC. It depends on what I'm playing, but the console has the overall edge here.

Pc, but I don't have a good one. If I had a decent rig, I'd never buy anything on consoles except Zelda and Mario.

I don't really have a preference. Whichever can provide me the most entertainment for my money.

but mostly because i can be slouched on my couch (with a bag of maltesers) which (unless youve got a good gaming laptop and even then its a little bit claustrophobic)you cant do on a pc.
Speak for yourself. I've got my big black monolith of a PC connected to my 52" LCD TV with a nice wireless Mouse and Keyboard so I can PC game while slouched on the couch quite nicely.

As others have said, it depends on the game. I prefer (and can pretty much only perform well) in FPSes on PC, whereas I don't think anything can beat playing a RPG on console.

It's probably the case that I simply haven't adjusted to the keyboard and mouse as gaming peripherals, but I prefer using a console controller.

PC.

I find it an incredibly disconnected experience to play on a console - how am I supposed to be immersed when I'm sat back from the screen, often fighting a control system and can see half the room around the TV screen?

The 360 is used when I can't wait and there's a massive release delay on the PC *cough*Assasssin's Creed*cough* or for exclusives, of which the platform hardly has any anyway - PS3 here I come.

Wow, really?

Everyone says they're so much easier on PC. Bethesda's games have all the mods and BioWare and co's games benefit from all the shortcut keys.

Direct response to quoted guy:
So you want us to spend the extra money you need to buy a PC (normally around $600 - not sure how to convert that to £ - which I've heard people laughably describe as "cheap") to do something you could easily do on a console anyway for a much cheaper price?

General argument:
And yes, I know a PC is much more than a gaming platform and all that. Well, here's the thing. I already have a PC that can do everything I'd ever want a PC to do... except game. I shouldn't have to spend hundreds on what essentially amounts to the ability to game, while in the process losing most of my current PC's customisation. The only genre I care about that I'm missing out on is the RTS genre, I can do everything else I want on the 360 while using my computer to... do computer stuff.

FPS I need a mouse for real aiming, none of that aim assisted, analog sloppy aiming....

AC, Force Unleased, FF, consoles.

Since PC gaming has grown up a bit in being glitchy i dont mind it. But if a game is made strictly off a console port like GTA or Ghostbuster might as well not bother unless there is a promise of user made content...
