Poll: Do you skip cuttscenes?

I was using OnLive earlier, spectating someone playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It was so annoying that he ignored all the diary pages he found, and then had no idea what he was supposed to do with the body he found. When it kept "letting him" do things to it like stab its head with a copper tube, he thought it was just letting him be mean.

If I've seen them already, yes I skip them. If it's my first playthrough then I definitely watch it, I mean come on, it's integral to the game.

I do skip them in the following situations.. Repeat playthroughs, If I've had to reload an old save, the dialogue is god awful, if its boring me to tears, If I don't care the slightest about the story... really, sometimes I feel like saying 'hurry it up and get out of my way I just want to kill shit, I don't care about you or your peoples issues.. just point me in the direction of what you want killed, thanks' (why is that never a dialogue option in an RPG?). Other than that I will definitely watch them, don't want to miss something important.

As for your friend, he's not an emotionless husk.. he just obviously doesn't care about the story or characters, which is fine, even for an RPG like Dragon Age, some people just play it for the tactical combat, more so the first one, which on higher difficulties is quite a blast to play, and you might want to get through the boring stuff to get to the real test of skill. That being said I would never suggest he try to play one just for the gameplay, he would be missing half the game.

I love cutscenes, as long as they're in MODERATION..

titles like MGS4 and the most recent FF had cutscenes that made my balls wither.

MGS4's can be extremely overlong and boring. They obviously felt the need to explain the whole series to people (like me) who were newcomers to the series. But damn, explaining everything away is just boring. I think I did skip a cutscene when you first meet Big Mama in the game, one of the ones where it goes into a kind of "diagram". Her voice actress didn't help (way too flat).

I seriously don't understand how any newcomer to Metal Gear could be confused by the story in MGS4. They explain every god damn thing in excruciating detail (with diagrams!).

only if i've played it before. i like the story in games so if it's a new game i watch them to see what's going on. once i know what going on, i skip

Yeah that was exactly my point. I even had to pity my testicles. Lost Planet also had a similar effect to me. Ughhh.

I skip cutscenes in my playthrough and watch them on my brother's =3.

If it's one he wont play then I playthrough it twice =3.

I just stopped watching cut scenes when I'm only replaying to get an achievement or collectible(That earns achievements). And even then I still watch a few or so.
