Poll: Do You Skip Intros

The question is simple do you skip the intro on tv shows and/or anime?

Depends on how much I like the music.

For an anime like Durarara or Level E, or a show like Firefly I never skipped the intro, but if I don't like the music I'll skip it every time.

Never the first time through. Unless I don't care much, don't own the game, and plan to play as much as I can.

Not for TV shows, unless its an advert for something. I don't watch anime but I'll skip an intro if it's crap/ confusing. I recently replayed BLACK, which has some strange and convoluted spy-ish story that I've never followed. Go in, blow up everything that moves. Then, blow up anything that doesn't.

Yes. Unless it's really good or I haven't seen it (too many times) before.

Often I also like to watch the intro if it's like the final of a series, or otherwise an exceptional episode.

If I like the song, for the first few episodes I won't skip but after a while I most definitely will. Don't matter how much I love the damn thing, I'm not listening to it repeatedly thirty something times just to watch my show.

Usually it wouldn't be such a problem if the actual intros weren't so damn long.
Some I'm okay with because they're short (HIMYM rings true here) and therefore takes more effort to skip.

I do if they're long. For example, I don't bother with skipping Californication's intro as it only takes like 30 seconds. Monster's intro takes a minute and a half, like most anime intros, so I skip it.

Why are anime intros so freakin' long anyway?

If I've never seen it before, I'll watch it through once. If I like the intro, I might listen to it several times, but I'll skip it if I don't like it, or just don't feel like watching it again if I've seen it too much.

I've recently started watching Babylon 5 for the first time on Netflix. The voiceover at the beginning is pretty cool, so I'll typically listen to that and depending on the state of my beverage, I'll either let the rest of the credits roll or skip ahead.

Follow the same pattern for most shows I powerdisc. If I'm watching something live, I'll generally wait them out until commercials.

Lastly, I'll never watch the South Park one since they typically play the song then go straight to commercial with no show before or after. Damn annoying!

Only after the first time. The exception was Panty and Stocking, since it was only like 30 seconds.

I usually play through intros until I have seen them a few times. But to shake things up, I posted to this thread after reading only the title.

Edit: I was thinking of game intros. I hardly ever watch TV or Anime, but videogames have intros, some of them skippable.

It depends.

If I'm watching it on tv, I cannot skip it.

If I'm watching a dvd, I will skip it if "Next scene" will get to the end of it without missing a bit of the show.

If I'm streaming off the internet, it's anime and the music is generally too awesome to skip.

If i find the intro is boring I skip it, but that almost never happens.
