This may surprise you, but I sympathize. Truly, I do. But, your concerns are about loss of family and painful deaths. I have no family, that won't be dying relatively soon and I don't want to get into it, but I expect to die of something else way before lungs give out.Assassinator said:It's pretty damned agonizing, so I doubt you'll smile. Same with lung emphysema, not so much smiling when you're hooked to an oxygen tank 100% of the time, and when your lungs are simply broken. Nope, that's not a happy life, not being able to see your kids grow up because your lungs failed.PayNSprayBandit said:Wearing a smile.Abedeus said:Yes. Blowing hundreds of toxins into your lungs is hot.PayNSprayBandit said:Mostly I smoke when I'm stressed. So, I had like two cigarettes in February, but a pack so far this month. Finals Week starts tomorrow. And as for:
A woman who is otherwise classy, who smokes, is really hot. One time I was dating a girl and we were both smoking. She took a drag off a cigarette and blew the smoke into my mouth, while kissing me. Hottest thing ever.Abedeus said:I also won't date girls that smoke, as I find it horrible.
Then you die of lung cancer.
*ahem*
Anyway, for me, no. It's not worth my money, not worth my health, not worth my future, not worth my looks, not worth the suffering it can inflict on my future family, it's worth none of it. I have this very special girl in my life (sadly not special in thát kinda way, if only...), she's pretty young (15) and is already smoking for almost 2 years. Whenever I see her light up one, it's like my heart is getting ripped out of my chest, my stomach is twisting and life itself is giving me a huge 'FUCK YOU, HAHAAAA!!' right in the face. I can already see the effects on her, she's not taking it any bit of seriously, and I fear for her future.
My grandma is also hooked on the stuff, and the whole family can see her being eaten away by it, but she simply won't stop. So it's safe to say that I hate smoking.
Buuut ofcourse I won't go on a crusade against it, afterall I couldn't care less about most people, and if random people want to smoke I really couldn't care less. Go ahead, just don't do it in my face and we'll be good together. It's different for the (few) people I actually réally care about.
Honest to God, it's not, if only... then we (as in, the family) wouldn't be so worried about my grandma, a teacher of mine wouldn't have had to bury his mother so early, etc, etc.TheSanityAssassin said:And all that 'bad for your health' bullocks is really reallllly over-hyped
So, it's not that I don't get your argument. It just doesn't apply to me.
