No. It killed my Grandad, and I don't intend to follow that.
Same. As soon as my Grandad died I vowed never to touch cigarettes at all.

Pipes, Cigars, and Cigarettes I smoke 'em all.

My grandmother (fathers side) never smoked a day in her life, and was never around smokers; she got lung cancer and died.

My grandfather (mothers side) has been smoking for sixty six (66) years and can out do kids 1/3 his age. His only health problem is high cholesterol.

My mother has been smoking for forty one (41) years and she's in great health.
Heart rate: 56. Blood pressure: 110/70, and she could hold her breath for 3 1/2 minutes

Explain that T.R.U.T.H.

I can think of a plethora of better ways to slowly commit suicide, and none of them are as disgusting as smoking.

Socially. However, I am annoyed by those idiots who keep harassing me about the dangers of tobacco while I'm smoking my cigar. I really try to smoke right next to their faces.
No offense.. but I hate people like you. 'Social' smoking is the most pretentious thing you could possibly do, why not just go out and, I dunno, NOT smoke? As far as I see it, you don't kill yourself, and you still get to talk with mates.. win/win?

That's because it's all about statistics.
You increase your risk quite extremely but that doesn't mean anybody definitely gets it.
However, if you look at people who did get cancer or COPD or whatever, the vast majority are smokers.
Of course, everybody hopes/thinks they won't be the ones that get cancer from it.
Too big a gamble, if you ask me, though.

I do not smoke, nor will I ever.

As a side note, I absolutely hate it when people smoke in public. It is so selfish, and not to mention, it is really bad for you. I do not see the point in smoking. Some people say it "calms you down" but what it really does, is it stops your craving for nicotine, which is what is making you agitated in the first place.

I consider smoking as a slow form of suicide. As I am not suicidal, I'm not going to try it.

Luck.

All 4 of my grandparents and two great aunts smoked for 50-60 years and all died to lung cancer.

My dad has been smoking for 50 years and is in perfect health but his friend who never smoked and kept in perfect shape dropped dead of a heart attack.

I don't smoke myself but I have a pipe for appearances and that I'd look jolly silly wearing a monocle and smoking jacket without one.

Never have and never will. Just being near smoke makes me somewhat nauseous and multiple people in my family have died of lung cancer.
