The only online game I play on a regular basis is Team Fortress 2, so the benefits of team-switching just before the end of the round might well be lost on me, but I think it smacks of cowardice, really. Besides, aren't last stands against a superior foe far more exciting than simply defending until a round ends? Or, if you're playing team deathmatch, being the last man standing? Maybe I'm the only one who enjoys such things.

What kind of arsehole makes the team balance worse by switching to the winning team? How pathetic does your ego have to be for you to do that? Oh no, you might lose at something meaningless that was for fun anyway. The horror. Utterly pathetic.

Decent people switch to the losing team to improve it.

I'd only swap if my (losing) team is no longer fun. Winning/losing doesn't matter to me as long as I have fun doing it. If they're being sore losers, sure I might swap (or quit). I'm more prone to jump to the losing side now that I know the other team's strategy. :p
I do pretty much that, i play for fun. So if my team is sucking terrably or being sore losers, ill switch over to the other team but be a support class, so if im playing TF2 I'll be a medic or sniper. That way i dont make the other team lose all that much worse.

Or I go fuck it and play pyro for a few minutes.

I don't because it's usually a few good players who know each other and if too many people jump ship to the winning side they just switch to the other team. Also I like to interrupt and shut down their team tactics for fun because the team I'm on is going to loose anyway.

Even if everyone else on my team quit, I'll be the one dude driving towards the flag yelling, "FUCK!FUCK!FUCK!FUCK!"

I notice that a fucking lot of people team switch if they get on a bad team. But 91% deny doing that? I think Freud would mention something about selective memory. Or something about the Rashomon effect.
I do it, but not often. Usually if it's starkly bad. Does anyone really want to be stuck with a sucky group? Most often I do this, and see this happen, in Left 4 Dead, or anything by Valve.

I'll only swith if the teams need balancing and everyone's too much of a whimp to switch. That's my excuse for swithing to the losing team all the time anyway.
I make a mental note of anyone's username I see regularly swithing to the winning team, then attempt to hunt them down. Maybe a little harsh, but it's how I roll.

Thinking about it, it's funny and ironic - if you switch to the winning team, you're a 'winner' at the end of the game, but ironically you're a loser becasue your ego was so pathetic you so desperately wanted to be on the winning side that you switched, even though it's a game for fun anyway and it doesn't matter if you lose. And you're doubly a loser because the winning team was going to win anyway, so you contributed to the losing team's loss and then did nothing to deserve or contribute to the winning team's win. Wow, you're such a 'winner'.

I like joining the losing side usually half way through a game because sometimes they would lose badly unless you join. I had something like this today. I was playing CoD4 sabotage. the bomb was at our point and we were being spawn killed. I just spawned as a stealth class got the bomb made a massive run, plantted it, won and I looked fan-ruddy-tastic.

In games? Nope...in fact, I actually like being on the losing side more than the winning side.

I won't switch to the losing side though, nor the other way around.

I switch to the losing team.

Especially when it's an obvious destruction.

I really wish games didn't have stats. I remember when people didn't give a shit about winning and losing and cared about playing.

No, actually, I never bother switching teams anyways......Yes, I'm that lazy.

Off Topic: The only thing worse than people switching to the winning team is when people leave when they're losing. Especially if it's a 1-on-1 scenario.

If I am there from the start, I stick to my team if possible. This is mostly an issue in Battlefield 2, which will sometimes move players to the other team. If I have been fighting for a team from the start, I get really pissed off at being moved to the other team, especially if I have helped my team become the one that is about to win. Not only because I feel like I'm being taken advantage of, but also because I will, in spite of all my hard work, only receive half the points I would have gotten, if I had not been moved to the losing team.
