Ever since the 5th grade I've always been a cheerful kid. My motto toward life has always been "Laughter brings you happiness". Me and my friends have so little drama because anything we say that might 'hurt our feelings' we just laugh it off. We call each other things that, when told other people would really offend them. Sure, we can be serious but where is the fun in that? I've never had a fight with my girlfriend since we met because we share this sort of idea.

What about you? Do you ever just laugh things off, or just simply not take anything to seriously?

I don't take anything really seriously. Sure, I spend 20 minutes or so writing essay-esque posts that express my ideas, but underneath it all, I'm really just a kid with more intellect. =P
I'm sure if you read some of my posts, and then met me in real life, you wouldn't believe I was the same person.

I pretty much always laugh things off. I take obligations to other people seriously, but honestly I don't care what others think of me.

This outlook makes playing on XBL a LOT easier.

I'm mostly just crazed smiles and laughter, with occasional bouts of super-serious existential soul-searching.

Well seeing as no one took me seriously when I told them I broke my L2 and L3 in my lower back (they're the ribs that dont extend to the front of your body), and decided to hit me there just because they thought I was lying... no I have to say I'm not too serious most of the time... otherwise people wouldn't hurt me like that :'(

I don't take myself seriously, but everyone around me seems to. This led to some problems with the guidance counselors, but they dropped it after a few weeks of not being able to contact my parents.

I take myself very seriously, not meaning I'm easily offended, or incapable of having a laugh (anything but) but in my own head I take myself seriously if that makes sense. I am srs business, but I find it hard to take anybody else seriously strangely.

OP, I like the sound of you!
You sound like a male version of me.

I never take myself seriously. I don't see the point, and I hate people who are easily offended.
I laughed at the 'I r robot. cannot compute' option which made me choose that.
:p

I laugh at myself all the time. My friends and I always make fun of each other, and my ex and I were almost never serious with each other. I just like life better this way.

I take only one thing seriously, it is my passion, my life, and is uncomparable in how kick-ass awesome it is, Cooking, I read cookbooks, I have 3 modern day cooking magazines, I have my own knife set! I love cooking and everything about it. though just about everything else, excluding school, I take about as seriously as a grain of salt. Pinches of salt are serious.

No, never. I've found that whenever I take myself seriously is when people stop taking me seriously.
...
That sounded like a stupid inspirational quote, didn't it? Wow, that was lame.

In this generation, self-mockery is key to make sure you're accepted in society. Okay, that was a very dark statement...

I just wanted to say that nowadays there's little room to show off your emotions, because either you'll be at work, called emo or weak or a combinationof that sort of thing, so we end up laughing things away which is called romantic irony!

Bah, it's not like it's important anyway...

well...even though I'd like to think of myself as silly and free-spirited, such thoughts would usually get me a roundhouse kick from my former mentor. with all that out the window, yes...I'm a pretty serious dude.
