Yeah, all the time. Right now, I'm arguing with myself whether to get something to eat. [small]I'm winning...[/small]

Oh great. I'm the only person so far who voted for "I talk to people that don't exist".
Let me justify that. It's not that they don't exist, it's that they're not here. I don't know if other people do this, but I like play out conversations in my head with people I know if I have something on my mind. Sometime I get a bit into it and my lips start to move and then I think "shit, I'm talking to people that aren't here".

This.

The best is when someone actually hears or sees me doing and then proceeds to ask me about it.

All the time. In fact, I do it so much that my parents and family have gotten used to it. My mom saids that I'm crazy to talking to myself, but why wouldn't I want to have a conversation with the greatest person ever?

[small]I'm the greatest person ever by the way. ;D[/small]

Threaja vu?

I talk to myself all the time. And answer. I hold vast, animated conversations, group discussions and thinktanks, between various aspects of my personality and viewpoints, both for and against what I think and believe. Most of the argument goes on in my head, but there's always a speaker.

Sometimes when i am writing a story (or not, for that matter) i will have a whole conversation with the character, fleshing out minute details about them, and ask their opinions on my life problems, and the world's affairs. I'm fucked up.

Yes, quite frequently. They're not full conversations really, just little tidbits and recent thoughts. Though, one day I gave a lecture about the evolution of the infantryman's rifle and how that correlates with the evolution of military tactics, except all in my head.

I'm a writer. Not professional, mind you, I do it to rid myself of my creative thoughts so they don't bother me when I attempt to do something of value to society.

Whenever I come up with an idea that involves conversation I usually find a nice quiet place where no one can call the men in the white coats from the happy hotel and I start to have dialogue with myself to see if the conversation I want to write sounds natural when spoken out loud.

I talk to myself, nonexistent people, and inanimate objects, and I'm still one of the smartest people in my school; I get called a genius at least four times a day(and not in a mocking tone).

Hell, why not?
Yeah, I talk to myself quite a bit. The voices in my head are pretty interesting. My mom thinks I've got yet another mental disease (This would make three). My therapist thinks it's perfectly fine though.
(silence, fool! You're telling them too much!)
Shut up, voice in my head.
(No, I agree with him.)
Not you, too, Voice #2!

Yup.

I do it so I don't feel so lonely......
Plus it helps me think. I've come up with a couple of gems with my babbling.

All the damn time.
We have a joke where a work that you are not trying a member of the Retail team until you start talking to yourself in the stockroom. I have seen just about all of them do it and I will do it too. I will walk into the stockroom and forget what I went in there for. Then I try to talk to myself to remember what I went in there for.
My manager does it. The person right under her does it. Just about all of us. Its actually quite funny.

All the time, I narrate my life and yell at videogames and make noises of discontent when I mess something up while playing. It's a fun party
I also make noises of discontent when I mess something up. Not just in games though. I also correct myself when I'm incorrect about anything. I also have a bad habit of thinking out loud, especially when it just makes someone feed bad/uncomfortable.
