In all honesty the aesthetic itself just sucks. Seriously, emo fashion is one of the most derided and mocked aesthetics around. The way this carries himself seems way too serious, like a 17-year-old trying to act like an adult but coming off as an unlikable, pretentious bore. Huh, kinda like Antoniades.Pedro The Hutt said:Eh, you shouldn't generalise DAPLR, it's not because some people don't like the direction DMC is being taken in that they have an adversity towards any and all change. They just don't like that particular change, and I'm pretty sure they have valid reasons for that. =p Heck, the original creator of DMC, Hideki Kamiya, is less than pleased with the reboot himself.
Well PoP was genuinely crap. No I don't say this due to nostalgia I had not played any PoP before that. The combat was quite stale and the characters had no decent development due to the "choice" paths. I could go on but I didn't like it and it wasn't due to design of the Prince or his "different" character lets put it that way.weker said:Yes it would, same goes for Prince of persia (the forth just called prince of persia), Dragon age 2 and dawn of war 2. All hated because players wanted the same.TheFinalFantasyWolf said:Ok now, I am a huge Devil May Cry fan. I love the series, I love Dante, Virgil, Trish, Lady, Nero etc.....However, when I saw the trailer for the DMC reboot/origin story, I was a little more than just peeved. Yes, I had my time of ranting about how much of a mistake this was.Yet after only a week, I found myself rewatching the trailer(the first one), and absolutely loving it. Right now, I am very excited about the new DMC. I honestly want to see the new direction its taking. Besides, I don't want to bag a game that isn't even out yet. (If its good then yippee for us, if its bad THEN we can all send it to the pits of hell.
Now tell me, what is it about the new DMC that you hate most?
Is there anything you do like about the new DMC?
I don't want to be too restrictive with the responses but please try to keep the "Dantes appearence" rants to a minimal. I've heard enough rants about the white hair. Also please, no immature fanboy/girl backlash, try to keep your reasons legitemate. Not just something like "Dante looks gay."
Not a reboot apparently.Pedro The Hutt said:Eh, you shouldn't generalise DAPLR, it's not because some people don't like the direction DMC is being taken in that they have an adversity towards any and all change. I know the source is old but I think its a good one anyway.TheFinalFantasyWolf said:Thank you so much. I'm so relieved to find out it's an origin storyGlademaster said:There is the interview that says it is meant to be an origin story and that they purposely went for a completely different look with Dante. You know, of the developers saying whether its a reboot or an origin story. I have been trying to figure it out. So do you have reliable info for that? I just hope your right though. I'm really hoping its an origin story, cause I'm not that fond of reboots.Glademaster said:For god sake people it is not a reboot. If you are such big fans of games why don't you bother to look up info about it. The game is not a reboot it is an origin story which the design, the hair colour, not being a god in combat in the trailer make a lot more sense.TheFinalFantasyWolf said:Ok now, I am a huge Devil May Cry fan. OT: Whether or not I'll like it too early to tell but I just wish people would realise that this is not a reboot. Thanks
I enjoyed it, it wasn't an awful game if anything an above average. it had some good stuff in it, and some unique stuff, but it got way way waaaaayyyyy more abuse then it needed, because its called prince of persia.Glademaster said:Well PoP was genuinely crap. Well I will in its favour that the art was good and combat could have been good if it wasn't just against 1 enemy every time and you didn't have to fight the same 5 bosses about 5 times a pop that was what really killed it for me.weker said:I enjoyed it, it wasn't an awful game if anything an above average. it had some good stuff in it, and some unique stuff, but it got way way waaaaayyyyy more abuse then it needed, because its called prince of persia.Glademaster said:Well PoP was genuinely crap. Actually it was generally well-received. I thought the combat did suck, but I don't play it for the combat anyway. The platforming was great and the art design was magnificent.Glademaster said:Well PoP was genuinely crap. No I don't say this due to nostalgia I had not played any PoP before that. The fact that the series hasn't moved forward story-wise since the second game, aka I've been waiting nearly a decade to find out what the hell happened to Dante. The prequels have been cool and all but really, this is getting silly.TheFinalFantasyWolf said:Now tell me, what is it about the new DMC that you hate most?
I kind of like Dante's new appearance, depending on how it fits with his story in this one. Also, his Demon Form being his older appearance with the white hair and changing his coat to red is pretty badassTheFinalFantasyWolf said:Is there anything you do like about the new DMC?
Well the combat did suck but did have potential if they manipulated it and used it right. Just because it was well received by critics and reviewers doesn't always make it a good game. As far as I know it was quite hated by the vocal gaming community and given meh reviews by more than 1 source.DustyDrB said:Comma splice in the title is killing me...
