For my honest opinion though, worse for some catagories. So many people are auto tuned, really if you can't sing on your own, your shouldn't sing.
Stuff like metal is still traveling on a pretty good path. "Keep the metal pure". But as I was saying about auto tuned people, pop and rap and stuff. Uhhg, I'm stoping here, ciao.

I'll admit though a lot of people seem to be abusing auto-tune in the past few years. I remember watching the super bowl before the last super bowl and the Black Eyed Peas were doing the half time show. They sounded terrible without auto-tune. And it made me wonder: "This was the group that I was into a few years back? What happened to them?"
Still, there's always a diamonds among the rocks when it comes to music. You just gotta search for them.
There's a lot more modern music I prefer to listen to than older music. That's not to say there isn't a whole lot of shit being made these days, but there was a whole lot of shit being made in the past as well.

Err...I think music has gotten better. Why? I base it on the scientific principle that I like a lot more music from the last decade than I like from earlier decades.
And once again, you people who think pop music is terrible now...thank your lucky stars that you were either too young, too secluded, or too inebriated during the late 90's/early 00's to remember what it was like then. Personally i think its gotten worse. Don't get me wrong some of today's music is fine. But I prefer older music. The likes of Bob Seger, The Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Pink Floyd, AC/DC etc... (i could go on) are my favourites, and are inspirational artists with true musical and lyrical genius. The likes of Dubstep kinda just gives me a headache after 10 minutes of indurance. I was brought up my family bombarding me with older music, and it's rubbed off and now i like to think i can appriciate good music. But it's hard to get that across to people of my age, most of my friends opt for dance and rap music and tend to look at me as if i've grown 10 heads when i play the older music i like to them! Oh well, Thank God for you tube!
