No, no, and no. Plus I have a life to live, a family to make, and new neat cartoon idea I want the world to see, the world can end when I end!

On a plus I am very much looking forward to the epic parties on the 20th-22nd. Those 3 days will top every Christmas I've ever had and will have in terms of fun! :D

I will end the world. I will destroy it with communist robots!
Oh come on! You know that communist robots are always breaking down and running out of coal!
Only because the capitalist pigs sabotage it!
Yeah--which means that the Capitalist Pigs are better at sabotage than the Communist
Robots are at world destroying! This is why capitalism always wins--our unparalleled
ability to wreck things.

The world already ended in the year 2000, and we are all trapped in limbo reliving lives suspiciously similar to the events that took place in that year lost because we are all in denial.

You just keep telling yourself that. I'll be over here filling the troughs for more
agents of sabotage.

BTW, your avatar is amazing--is it from Chii's Sweet Home?

The dating was wrong wrong anyway. So 'if' we were to believe the Mayan Calender, it would already have happened.

With any luck, the people who genuinely believe in the doomsday prophecies will have the ground open beneath their feet and die.

Then we can stop all this nonsense.

I haven't seen/read it yet--I saw an ad for it in the back of Yotsuba&! and it sounded
adorable--but given the basic plot I don't think I could take the heartbreak.....

No, it's just like Harold Camping, just like every other doomsday prophecy. These number-games based around arbitrary calender systems and mythical sources are nonsensical. Once this date is over, I expect the next prophecy to apply to 2013 (13 is a bad number, after all!) and then maybe 2017 (17 is almost as bad) and 2020 (because it's the same number twice). Intersperse it with a few randomly calculated dates from the Bible, the Quran and some other sources to fill the gaps inbetween.

I don't know, but in my time I've seen the end of the world come and go at least 10 times or so. This one is silly because it's based on a calendar resetting, which has happened specifically with the Mayans many times already.

Now if we're still around, then here's a prediction from another prophet that's just as sane as Harold Camping, Jim Jones, and the multitude of nuts that thought it would be during the recent turn of the millennium.

Just jump to 5:56 for the next big prediction.

There you have it, straight from the loony's mouth. 2019? Waiting is the hardest part.

I don't think I'll spoil the plot before I watch it.

I always put "End of the World 2012" in the same boat as "NDAA is gonna kill our rights", "Obama predator droned children", "EA is killing video games" and "SOPA will destroy the Internet!" The hysterical posturings of psychotic lunatics.
Apart from the NDAA, all those thing you said are true, drones do kill children, EA is killing gaming and SOPA would have kiled the internet.
According to one Federal District Court so far, the NDAA 2012's additions are unconstitutional because it WOULD allow the government to strip away a citizen's rights.

So even that counts.

Please don't start this doomsday stuff again... I'm so sick of the last year of "omg, 2012 end of the world"-talk.
Do you remember,
The very last night of December
When in '99 we thought the Y2K would end us?
But time just kept rolling on and on.
(Imagine the first verse of December by Earth Wind and Fire)

OT: I voted no. It was good enough for a movie, but that's about it. Also I'm looking forward to the last Evangelion remake, Miku may come back next year, I'll be graduating next year... So no, it's not ending yet.

Just the ad that I saw for it indicated enough of the basic idea for heartbreak a-plenty.
Though as I said it does look adorable as well. After you've watched it maybe you can
let me know if you think an old man's heart could take it...
