Poll: Do you think the new Tron will be a big hit or a big miss

I'm going to see it tomorrow. It should be good but even if it isn't I am not particularly worried. Apart from 13 and Geoff Bridges (sp?) I am not familiar with the other actors/actresses anyway so..hard to speculate but it does have a relatively decent plot!

By 13 I guess you mean the chick from House?

The trailer looked bad, didn't like the tiny parts I saw of the original movie, and I keep thinking of this guy:

I don't care if it's a big miss, I'm still watching it and will probably love it. Possibly the only movie this year that could actually use 3D well.

I am prolly not going to see it in theaters unless a large group of my friends want to go, otherwise for me it looks like a netflix rental. The first tron was shit and anyone that says otherwise is being nostalgic and not thinking clearly so I have very low hopes for this one.

It looks like a fun movie. The soundtrack by Daft Punk is something to look forward to if the movie isn't that great.

I'm not sure really. The remake of Speed Racer got a bad reputation and I adore that movie. I hope I get the same feeling from Tron.

I hope it's good, I liked the original.

However, the combination of the line "turned on him" with fights including guys in bad-guy colors worries me that this will boil down into a lazy chosen-one-slays-villain plot. I'll wait and see what the reviewers say.

Unless it's something exceptional, it'll miss. Big time. There weren't that many Tron fans to begin with, and this shows signs of failing even with them. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
